Cathy flipped her hair behind her shoulder, examining her nails as she let her body relax and gracefully fall to one of the cold leather couches in the green lit Slytherin common room. It was nearly one in the morning and most of the annoying younger children had gone up to bed, which she was glad about. She loved abusing her prefect powers to send them running away but sometimes she just felt like snapping at him.
She huffed at a slightly chipped part of her nail polish and pulled out her wand to quickly fix it. It had been a relatively quiet evening and she was bored. She didn't go to sleep until two or three usually and with nobody to entertain her she was annoyed. Maybe it would've been fun to keep a few, fumbling first years around to boss over.
She didn't mind thinking back and relishing though. She hadn't been blind to the moody Stefan, who'd been a storm, whizzing through the common room and then leaving. She knew something was wrong and when she'd batted her lashes and given Nick her doe eyes, he'd told her that Stefan had a little confrontation with little miss sunshine, Dominique "Dom" Weasley.
She grinned as she remembered how she'd been one of the few who'd split them up. Why should that little, hogwash, lowlife have somebody like their Stefan for herself when he belonged with them, the rich, the beautiful, the powerful. She sneered, smirking to herself and then looked up, hoping to see somebody she liked, and that she did.
"Hello, gorgeous," she teased, her voice soft and lilting as she crossed her legs and offered him a seat next to her. "Long time no see," she joked.

One in the morning. It had been another dull night of nightmares and cold sweat as Marcus sat up in his four post bed in the dorm that housed the seventh year slytherins. So much had happened in the past few days, old drama stirring up new, enemies becoming lovers, it was overwhelming, or so that was his excuse. Really it was nothing, nothing he hadn't handled before in the stone walls of this castle, but yet he needed something to place the blame for the nightmares, and what better option than stress. With a grunt and stretch, he raised up to his feet, throwing his hands above his head to straighten out the muscles in his lower arms and back.
It was late, which meant that most of the troublesome first years were in their beds, probably frightened by the prefects that led his house. Served em right though, pesky little twits. Marc pulled on the usual grey zip up hoodie that he lounged around in and made his way down the stairs to the common room, his feet burning from the cold of the stone floor beneath him. He hit the landing and peered across the room, seeing the familiar dark hair of Caterina Zabini poking up from the emerald couch. He smirked slightly. She was a fun one, sharing the same ideals and rather smug manner that Marcus himself held about. They had hooked up occasionally, but nothing more than a one night adventure behind closed doors. He didn't have a problem with that, and who wouldn't with a gorgeous girl such as herself.
The girl turned up and flashed a grin his way, greeting him in the same teasing manner he had grown to know and slightly adore. "Evening, beautiful." He said, walking over to and around the couch, taking the spot she had cleared for him. "Long time no see." She added, causing him to crack a smile and a soft chuckle. "Ah well ya know how busy I get. Get hard for me to come around a visit when I'd like to." He played on, turning his gaze over to her and giving her a playful wink.

Despite how bored she was, Cathy had had a perfectly wonderful day. She'd been oblivious to the eye, but very vigilant about all the rumors flying around school and a few had been music to her ears. She'd pretended to be horrified, even shocked and hurt and concerned, but inside she was gloating and dancing with joy. She was finally facing what she'd wanted for a long time and she was thrilled. Her mind was an intricate maze and she had found a way through to her destination.
She heard his words and smiled, raising a brow and pretending to pout. "I'm hurt," she said, batting her eyelashes at him before leaning back against the couch, her eyes closed and her head resting calmly. She was perfectly at ease around Marcus, somebody who'd known her a long time and had seen much of her, literally. She didn't mind it, not one bit, since she'd never been one for commitment and he was amazing in bed. Something she greatly admired in any well mannered, pure blooded boy. "Have you heard the latest?" she grinned, her eyes still closed, but her dark red stained lips curled into a smirk. "One Nick Avery and Darla Selwyn are on the rocks, waiting for a nudge in the right direction, if you know what I mean" she whispered, thrilled.
She'd been part of the rather diabolical plan which had so cruelly returned Stefan to where he belonged and taken the Gryffindor miss-goody-two-shoes away and she didn't mind doing it again. She'd known Nick her whole life and always looked out for him. They'd dated briefly for a month or two in their fourth year and most of their relationship had been physical and she was glad it had ended on a good note. But she didn't appreciate how quickly he'd moved onto the older Selwyn daughter, into a more conventional, romantic relationship. And here she was, facing the opportunity to drag him back by her claws again.

"I'm Hurt,"
The girl spoke up beside him, flashing him a smile and batting her eyelashes. Marc couldn't help but grin a little bit at her efforts, whether they were serious or joking (which he figured the later of course). "Oh I bet you are." He replied back with a smirk before his mind started to wander a bit. He had known her for what seemed like an eternity, dating back to some of the pureblood gatherings all their families loved to hold. He knew her both inside and out, as well as dressed and undressed. He smirked a bit to himself at that thought, his mind wandering back to their first little fling in their fourth year after her and Nick Avery split it off. It was rather nice really, having her on his arm like that for those few short weeks, but then again he wasn't one who wanted to be tied down quite yet and so they parted ways, but still found themselves tangled beneath satin sheets whenever their hearts began to race. Some part of him still longed for that connection with her, but it was faint and buried underneath years of cold remarks and cynical outtakes.
Thoughts came crashing back down to reality as Cathy spoke up with a hint of excitement in her voice. The boy peered over with his blue eyes and shook his head in response as he propped his feet up on the coffee table and folded his arms, now intent to listen to her story. The dark haired girl made no mention of looking at him, but rather kept her eyes closed and her head tilted back as she spoke about Nick Avery and his failing love with Darla Selwyn. Marcus perked up a bit at this. "You gotta be kidding?" He said, smirking a bit and rolling his eyes. "See what happens when you try to breed with failure." He scoffed a bit, placing his arms behind his head and now leaning back a bit so his eyes met the ceiling. "Still, it's not as bad as what Stefan did. At least Darla is pure....in the blood sense of the word."
Marc's mind traced back to a year ago when his best friend was dating the little blonde haired Weasley twit. Oh how he loathed the sight of them together. His stomach would literally churn at times when he caught sight of them kissing or being all touchy feel-ly in the halls. He shivered a bit, now beginning to make himself sick just recalling the memory. Good thing he put a stop to it, but of course not with the help of dear Cathy beside him and their other partner Danni, who was probably out messing with her little black book again.
His mind snagged slightly as the final part of Cathy's sentence came into play. A push in the right direction. They had already gotten away with it on Stefan, but Nick was too bright to fall into the rumor mill easily. "Gotta plan or something, luv?" He questioned, his blue eyes glancing over at her frame, taking her in a bit and forming some rather mischievous thoughts in his mind. He pushed them aside though, knowing that right now was not a time for physical embrace.

"Well, what do you expect?" she pouted, twirling a strand of hair between her fingers, as she looked at him, still pouting. She didn't mind the fact that of all her classmates, Stefan, Nick and Marcus were the best she liked. She never got along with girls anyway. She didn't understand any of the nonsense rules about 'best girl friends before boy friends' or 'we girls got to stick together', nonsense. Girls were nothing but rivals for affection, good looks and fancy clothes. Nothing else. Two girls could never be best friends because they got jealous of one thing or the other. "Stefan is all broody because of something and so is Nick, I think about Selwyn" she said, twisting her mouth in a scowl.
She grinned at his shock and opened her eyes, turning her head to look at him. "Mh mm...nope. I heard it straight from the devil's mouth. Nick was sulking about it to Stefan at breakfast and from what I gather, Stefan and Dominique had a little shouting match earlier today. I think the little bitch figured out that there was a rumor but, worry not. Stefan doesn't believe her since she tried to accuse Danni and I," she replied, updating her partner in crime about everything that she knew. She relished the sadistic pleasure she got from such musings. "I know what you mean, that too a blood traitor. And don't forget who she's best friends with. Besides, I'm hurt Nick moved on so quickly from me to her. It's not a comparison," she hissed.
She patted his shoulder, as he shivered, obviously at the memory of Stefan and Dominique. She understood him just as well, because she'd nearly vomited every time she saw Nick with his arms around his Darla. Oh, she was over him, but he was her friend. Theirs was a circle which just couldn't be damaged with useless outsiders, and they would see to it. They were a class beyond. "From the way he sounded, he doesn't need it. It'll be done in a week or two. And that Darla girl may be sickening, but she's not naive like that one was. She'll sniff it out," she nodded, crossing her arms and staring in the fire. "We just enjoy the show, love".

"Well, what do you expect?"
Marcus couldn't help but crack a meager smile and soft chuckle as his blue eyes glanced over at the girl who began to twirl her hair around her finger. "Not a lot, that's for sure." He spoke up, his words spilling with half meaning, and half joking manner. Sure, the dark headed girl had been proven useful in bed, and as well with the splitting up of the unlikely couple they had faced, but he still had his doubts in her. It wasn't her fault though. Anyone that knew Marcus knew that he only truly liked someone when they had certain qualities or options that he could use, or in Cathy's case exploit.
Cathy spoke up, filling him in about how Nick and Stefan were both in a pissy mood, with Nick's reason being clear and the other's unknown. Marc rolled his eyes a bit at that. "Since when are they ever in a good mood?" He questioned her. It seemed lately that all his objects had become rather intolerable around him, with each one seeming to have copped a rather bitchy attitude. It was pathetic of each of em to let such emotions cloud their sheer judgement, but he knew better than to play into it all.
The boy perked up a bit as the girl across from him went on to confirm everything she said, spilling the story about how Nick was sulking to Stefan and that Dom and Him both had a run in with each other in the hallways. He cracked a huge grin. "Oh I'd pay a hundered galleons to see that little show." He said with a chuckle, his mind now churning out a re-enactment in his head, though it ended with the Weasley dead, which sadly didn't happen in the real world version. Cathy continued on to state that Dom might have found out about the rumor, though the scent was thrown off them. He sighed a bit, now remembering what had happened earlier that day in the Forest. "Oh. Yeah..." He said, slightly trailing. "I forgot to mention I had a run in with the Weasley in the woods. She confronted me about the rumor, and I simply told her I had nothing to do with it, but we know the truth" He tacked on a wink, "Still, she wants leads, and I told her we'd have a sit down and discuss it soon, which leaves me with a problem. I need something to throw at her and lead her away." Marcus looked over at Cathy, a serious look over his face as his mind wrapped around what needed to be done. Hopefully the girl would have some suggestions, and if so, she might be rewarded.
The topic went back to Nick and his little..whatever she was. Cathy went on to tell him that they might need a push from the looks of it and that it was time to sit back and enjoy the show. "Pity." He said, following her lead and crossing his arms, but drawing his legs up a bit onto the couch. "I would have loved to get involved with that one."

She rolled her eyes at his response and decided not to say anything about it. She knew Marcus didn't fully trust her and she didn't mind because she was the last person to put her trust in anybody as well. After all, they were nothing but mere means to an end. And she didn't mind the skeptic look he had towards her as long as she got what she wanted at the end of the day. It wasn't that she wanted Nick to herself or Stefan to herself. She couldn't commit for anything. But she didn't want those sly little girls to have them either. They belonged on this side of the line.
"Ever since they let their minds take a backseat..never" she admitted. Even though Stefan was free of Dom he'd never quite been the same and she'd felt almost guilty. Almost. She had to remind herself not to let her friendship get in her way of what was right and what wasn't. She had decided to be free of such emotional influences a long time ago and it got her a longer way. She was mean, yes, but free of pain and suffering, especially for the sake of another.
"I guess I can take credit for that," she winked, laughing. After all, ever since she'd seen Nick, her clever, mean, prejudiced Nick, getting all lovey-dovey with her Ravenclaw, she'd done what she had to. Run to him to get him to spill, and used his trust and feelings to manipulate them into doubts. 'Love brings only pain' and all the other garbled, cliched nonsense mixed with a few tears and hugs and he'd given in. And all those doubts in his mind had come to this. She mentally congratulated herself. She frowned at the mention of the Gryffindor seeker and sighed, and then smiled. She remembered from various parties, how the girl was a lightweight as ever and grinned. "Forget leads. You could just get her drunk," she said, scooting closer, "very drunk" and leaning in to whisper in his ear. "Because the irony of getting some from her would just be the cherry on the cake" she whispered and then fell back to her place, smirking.
She shrugged at the mention of Nick. "We've done enough, love. Now we just pat ourselves on the back and watch it all fall down" she grinned.

"Ever since they let their minds take a backseat..never"
The girl responded to his first question, causing him to give a little chuckle. It was true. Both the boy's had been distracted by meaningless love, or the lack of it as Marcus saw, and it had caused them to act differently. Stefan was free of the Weasley, but things had certainly changed in him, and for the better. That was what Marcus thought at least. Sure, what he had done would be ruled by others as cruel and very unusual, but that didn't matter to him. What mattered was that one of his friends had finally seen the light, though unknown to Marcus the repercussions of it could be dangerous down the road.
Cathy told him she should take the credit for that and he grinned a bit. Once again she had proven herself rather useful, and it filled what little of a heart he had with joy, as twisted as that is. "Well good job on that one, luv." He simply replied, giving her his own wink in return before the topic switched to him bumping into Dom in the woods. Cathy grinned, which triggered a synapse in his own brain to register she had something put together. What she said as she scooted closer made sense to him, but it was when she leaned in and whispered into his ear, causing slight shivers of pleasure to run up his spine that it sealed the deal. Forget the leads and get her drunk. His brain registered it and stored it for later use. It was the perfect idea. He remembered how wild she could get, and since he offered to pay for the drinks, she'd have to drink them. Then he could lead her back to one of the rooms above the old pub and have his way, making sure that Stefan would never go back to the little bitch. "Oh, you are so great." He said. grinning back at her. "And it's things like this that make me keep you around." It was true, if she hadn't had done all she had, she would only be a sex toy for him like some of the other brainless dopes around the school.
Cathy went on to state they did all they should do with Nick and it was time to give themselves a pat on the back. Still, Marcus felt like more needed to be done, and his own brain went into full on thinking mode. The gears in his head clicked and clicked until finally an idea came in. "But what if I fooled with her as well?' He spoke up, looking over at her. "Not sleep with her, but just flirt. That would drive the poor bloke crazy." He grinned himself.

She smirked at his chuckle and shrugged, smirking. She'd dated Nick back when they were in their fourth year and he'd been her first and only boyfriend. They weren't a conventional couple by any means and she'd liked her time when she was with him. He was a dear friend, one she knew inside out and when they'd dated, it had been a version of it combined with the physical gratification. They had their moments of niceness, walking together to classes and dates but they'd also had their moments of violence whenever they'd piss each other off. It didn't last very long, barely a month or two before they decided to call it off and go back to what they were. But she was one of the better guys she'd been with and they had one night stands and drunken flings once in a while. Until he went after the hag a little while later.
She smirked evilly at the shiver she elicited from him and it boosted her ego, his reactions. She knew she was good, but she always liked to be reminded. She shrugged as if it was no big deal but truth be told she wanted to see the Gryffindor girl's reputation tattered to bits. As if "cheating" on her love hadn't been enough, being tagged a slut was just the cherry on the top. Imagine the girl's horror when she'd wake up the next day with a pounding headache and memories of Marcus all over her. She shivered, herself, as she grinned at the thought of her disgust. She fake pouted at his words. "The only reason?" she asked, not moving her lips from his ears and then pretending to huff as she crossed her arms. But her eyes twinkled.
She raised a brow at his suggestion and didn't hide her disgust. She was losing all her boys to those to bitches and when they were done, she was going to make them pay oh-so-dearly. "If you must. But you're right. Nick can get very possessive, especially if it's somebody who's got a real chance. It'll drive him up the wall," she grinned, liking the idea of driving the wedge deeper between the nauseating pair of lovers.
OOC- Gosh, I love being in her head xD

"The only reason?"
The girl hadn't pulled back as she spoke those words, her voice a light whisper which caused her breath to lightly billow across his ear once more. Again Marcus shivered, his skin starting to break out in goose flesh as his brain signaled the pleasure in it all. Cathy pretended to huff and cross her arms and he grinned and chuckled a bit, now moving his head over to lean and whisper in her own ear. "Oh don't be silly." He spoke. "You know I keep you around for....other reasons." With that he pressed his lips as close as he could with out touching her ear as he spoke and then proceeded to give her a quick kiss on the cheek and lean back into his original spot on the couch.
The goose flesh that now reigned havoc upon the outer layer of skin triggered his brain to process some rather unsettling thoughts. They could get away with so much down here on this couch, and had several times before. Now though it was just a matter of time and if he could smooth talk his way into getting back into that spot.
The girl spoke up once again, raising an eyebrow to his suggestion and telling him that he could if he must. He did want to do it, but only because it was needed. With Darla out of the picture just like with what happened with Dom, Nick would be a step closer to the circle of friends that consisted of Stefan, Marcus, Cathy, and Danni once more. "Well then it's settled." He replied, knowing exactly what he had to do in order to push the two star crossed lovers apart a little further. Now it was only a matter of time and a bit of waiting.
