celia walked out of her common room, ready for prefect duties. she wasn't sure of the time it was, and she didn't really care. she only needed a good five hours of sleep to be fully energized in the morning. aside from that, she had finished her homework and had a good two hour nap just in case. yes, the young girl was always prepared for everything. she had never been late a day in her life and she wasn't going to start. there was a reason that they chose her to be a prefect. celia met up with the other slytherin prefects. the assigned her to check the top floor, just in case the other house prefects didn't do her job. celia understood. gryffindors were unreliable. she wondered how they could even pick prefects out of that bunch of misfits. and don't even get her started on hufflepuffs. the only house she couldn't diss was ravenclaw because of her sister. aside from that, most of the people there were geniuses so there had to be something good about them. still, celia would never admit it because it was not like her to dish out compliments to other houses.
celia continued walking till she reached the astronomy tower. the sky looked just as beautiful as ever, with millions of tiny starts shining bright. this was her favorite part of prefect duty. she might have had to walk dozens of flights of stairs, but it was all worth it to see this. celia only hoped that no student decided to sneak out of bed. she hated that, they always ruined her perfect prefect evenings. honestly, couldn't they just stay in bed! yes, this was a lovely view but they could come out here on their own time. not when they were not allowed. celia hated troublemakers like that more than anything. always doing things when they wanted because it was more exciting. lia rolled her eyes as she thought of the dozens of miscreants that had crossed her path. she had yet to get anyone in trouble, since the older prefects always stepped in but she would soon have her chance. but for now, celia continued watching the stars, not knowing that her peaceful night would soon be ruined.

it was well beyond dinner time. as such, the young gryffindor prefect was out in the corridors already, doing the duty that was left to her. she’d finished a potions essay prior, 5,000 words and not a single word under, mind you. though she found herself helping others with there essays as well, coming to a total of 25,000 words. yet there was obvious reasoning as to why they came to her and it was all based upon her reputation. it was well known that she was the brightest in her year—a lexicon of sorts. yet at the end of the day, it beat out being ‘just another weasley.’ rose walked along the seventh floor corridor, looking for someone to catch. though she truly hated getting others into some sort of trouble, it seemed too redundant to be inspecting the halls, forever finding no one.
the fiery red head continued her search, near the ravenclaw tower. she’d passed a few other prefects from the house nearing there posts including the ever popular darla selwyn. darla—the most noble of her family, what was left of it. rose’s mother told her the stories of how both darla’s parents were death eaters. it was sort of odd to think that such a nice girl came from such a dark family. though her sister, celia—she was different. celia is cold and almost cruel; the real bane of rose’s existence. that girl had very few nice words, which mostly were reserved for darla herself. celia had no friends no true friends, only those out of fear.
rose sighed heavily as she’d wandered to the astronomy classroom, seeing the door cracked at the base of the stairs. the prefect shook her head in disapproval, sensing a student up in the classroom. that was where students frequently took when they were out of bed. the gryffindor pulled out her wand, keeping her grip firm and quietly slipped up the stairs and through the cracked door. yet upon further examination, the classroom proved to be empty. rose raised a brow, looking in the shadows and up to the ceiling, finding none other than the observatory platform entrance wide open. a small ”hmm…” mused in her throat as she climbed the latter, greeted by the backside of none other than the devil herself.
tensing her own body language, and raising a brow, she broke the silence that the young slytherin put herself into. ”excuse me, but i don’t see any other students up here. i suggest going back to your post.” she added, a cold expression on her face.

celia thought about how proud her grandmother had been at the fact that she had become a prefect just like her older sister. celia admired darla more than anyone, though her ideals were far from being close to celia's. still, celia wished that she could be as well-liked as darla. but if she had to choose between being with people like her, and being liked, well the choice was obvious. celia's peaceful moment was soon disturbed by an oh so familiar voice. she turned only to see that she was right about who had caught her up here. it was that weasley girl, rose. now, celia would have never bothered to learn her name if it wasn't for the fact that she was a prefect herself. how she ever got that right was beyond her. she frowned when she realized that rose was telling her too leave. as if she would ever listen to someone like her. if anything, she should be afraid of celia. after all, celia had much more power over her, or at least celia thought she did.
see, weasley's weren't really at the top of the wizard pyramid. yes, they were a pureblood family, until their children started marrying half-bloods that is. now, they were like any other family, filled with dirty blood individuals. celia was close to ignoring her comment, until she realized that rose would probably go squeal on her. then celia would have to explain to herself to a teacher and it would just be a big mess. so celia did the best thing she could do, she lied. "of course you don't see any student, i chased them away while ago" celia lied. she wished that it hadn't been rose that had prefect duty that night. as much as celia hated to admit it, rose was a spectacular prefect. well, she wasn't as good as celia but she came a close second. anyways, rose wouldn't be one to miss a student but no one was perfect. maybe if she kept the charade going on, rose would actually believe that she let a few people pass by. celia loved every opportunity that she had to embarrass her.
"of course you wouldn't know that seeing as you weren't doing your duties" celia continued. oh how wonderful it would be to land this weasley girl in trouble. if only she wasn't a prefect, then celia could get her in trouble as many times as she could. sadly, prefects could not punish other prefects. it was such a silly rule in celia's opinion, after all there could be horrid prefects. but like all rules, celia had to abide by it.

it was so incredibly irritating, the fact that celia was a prefect, she was nothing like her sister. celia was too caught up in her conniving schemes to even do her job, though she probably only got the position as darla was dating the head boy. rose sighed heavily, still looking up at the girl. she didn’t like this position, having to look up to her—it was too improperly metaphorical for her own taste, and as such, she finished climbing. the weasley eyed the girl, from her shoes to her cloak, her prefect badge extra shiny. celia, or ‘lia’ as she preferred to be called, wasn’t all that bad—it was purely a front. the girl didn’t go ‘round hexing others for no reason. true, she bullied those who weren’t “pure” in her mind, but truly, how many of them were left? that entire ideology was deteriorating, and more laws with it. how ironic it was though, that it was her family who fought to keep supremacy in order and it was rose’s own mum who’d seen that special privileges were not seen to purebloods, furthermore eradicating laws prejudiced against halfbloods and muggle borns. the thought of it all made the red head smile to herself, though upon realization, her face went cold once more, daggers for eyes turned back to lia.
rose waited for the girl to answer her, though she was just short of ignoring her. the fiery red head raised a brow, her hands on her hips, almost reminiscent of her mother. then she waited for the answer with delighted ears. a sour look crossed her freckled face at the excuse given. ”chased them away a while ago?” she repeated, nodding her head, a look of acception on her face momentarily. ”…and here i never considered that you even did your duties. for that, i apologize” she continued, still eyeing the slytherin for reaction. ”but now that you’re done, why don’t you just run along, and return back to the dungeons where you’re posted…hmm?” rose wasn’t taking no for an answer. she refused to stand there and let the girl bully her, and she made that known.
the gryffindor’s mouth fell agape for a brief moment, and images of her using a body bind curse on the girl crossed her mind. but she was too good for that. still, the insult took a stab at her, though she hid it well. how dare she say that! rose took a step closer to celia, though remaining calm as ever. …says the girl who is clearly neglecting her own duties? rose motioned to the room, allowing lia to act on her own emotions. ”it would be absolutely dreadful to have to tell callie that you were neglecting your duty, and then lying about it….wouldn’t it?” rose tried to test the waters, seeing if the girl would even admit to lying as rose had nothing more than a hunch.

celia hated all weasley's but if she had to pick a specific one to hate, it would definitely be rose. not because the girl was extra annoying or anything, but because of her mother. the woman who worked so hard to make sure that pure-bloods were not given the rights that they deserved. honestly, who did she think she was. she was gotten lucky to even have been born a witch. it was all pure luck while celia's family had to marry their own cousins just to keep their blood pure. they worked hard to not taint the wizard name, and it was people like rose's mother that made the wizards name seem mediocre. it was a pity that rose had to be born from that woman. lia was sure that if she had been a part of her family she would have made quite an addition. celia scoffed and rolled her eyes. if there was one thing she did, it was her duties. the only reason she had come up here was because the other slytherins believed that gryffindors were horrible when it came to their prefect duties. sure, celia practically volunteered but now she wished that she hadn't. she was not in the mood to argue, but if she had to then she would. she would not let this half-blood get away with talking to her like that.
"unlike you, rose, i actually have my duties under control. you should think about stepping your game up because someone just might let it slip that you haven't been taking your prefect duties seriously." lia threatened. would she ever say anything? if rose crossed her, yes she would. would anyone believe her? of course they would. aside from being an expert liar, celia had her sister on her side. she might know that celia was a bit of a bitch, but she also knew that when it came to being a prefect, celia was serious about it. "don't tell me what to do, ill go when i'm ready" lia continued. the word mudblood got stuck in her throat. she was a bitch but even she didn't say that word out loud. she did have a heart and she really didn't enjoy using it, through it went through her head alot. her grandmother had refrained from using it herself because of darla but she would still use it around lia. it was something that celia grew up around but not something she used. unless rose got her really mad. celia rolled her eyes. her duties weren't that hard. she usually patrolled the dungeons because the older prefects felt that they belonged there.
and no one would be stupid enough to venture out to the dungeons at night. the next insult did make lia a bit more scared. callie was the head girl, the one that could knock anyone, even celia, down if she wanted to. but lia kept her cool. rose was playing celia's game now. "yeah it would, if i were lying about it. unfortunately for you, i'm not a liar nor am i irresponsible. like i said, my duties have been taken care off. it should be you who should be afraid of what callie is going to say after this mishap." celia continued.
