before, lily would watch them to try out the moves that they did. now, she was just imagining herself there.for a second, lily could feel the wind blowing through her hair, the way it would when she was riding her broom. it wasn't state of te art or anything. and that's why lily loved it. it was old but still flew extremely fast. it had been a present from her father when she was ten but at that time she had been to scared to actually ride it. and when she actually wanted to try, her brothers would pretend to be busy since she wasn't allowed to ride alone. luckily, there were times when her parents wanted to fly and lily was able to try out her broom. she could barely concentrate on the zooming quidditch players, she was much too into her thoughts. and like always, that made her totally oblivious to the person that had made their way to the stands as well.
HOPE ITS GOOD! (: |

Okay, Roxy. Everything's good. Everything's fine. You can do this. Roxane Weasley stared at herself in the mirror, her eyes drifting to the shiny new badge that had been placed there. A "C" emblazoned above her chest. It was perfect. And it was something only her father, mother and brother knew about. Her parents had been ecstatic. So incredibly proud that Roxy couldn't help but smile excitedly at the time. But her dad had also suggested she keep it secret until the last possible moment and let people figure it out on their own. Well, the badge would be a tell tale sign as soon as she put i on, but she indulged the man in his pride and silliness. And now she was finally putting on the badge. It was finally time to pick the team. Those who played last year were predictably already out on the field, but there were some spots to fill since some players had moved on from Hogwarts. And Roxy had to choose the replacements. Please don't let me screw this up.
During her first game, Roxy would have never imagined becoming captain. Sure, she was good and she was fast, but Captain?! George Weasleys daughter? She just... she never thought anyone would consider her mature enough to take on the role. Hogwarts professors must be a heck load stupider than she gave them credit for. Still, she was going to do this right. She was going to organize herself and be the best darn Captain Gryffindor had ever seen. Captain... It was such an honor. Oliver Wood was captain of Gryffindor and look where he ended up! Puddlemere Bloody United, that's where! Roxy was a HUGE fan of Puddlemere. The idea of actually ever playing for them was... well... mind blowing.
Making her way on to the pitch, broom in hand, she shook herself. First impressions were important. Sure, she probably knew everyone out on the court already, but this was her introduction as captain. She wanted to show the team they were in good hands. Once on the pitch, she glanced around, caught off guard by the sight of red hair. Slowly and quietly, she shuffled towards her cousin. The girl was in a trance and Roxy couldn't help but chuckle lightly. She knew exactly how Lily was feeling. "Hey, Red. Can I take this to mean you're finally trying out for the team?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; background-color: #343434; padding:20px; border-top: 10px #CC3333 solid; border-bottom: 10px #CC3333 solid;] break down these walls ( WORDS ) 483 ( TAGGED ) ROXY ( STATUS ) COMPLETE lily wondered which of them was the captain this year. last year, it had been tyson, who had been nice enough to let her be at their practices without questioning why she was this. hopefully, this year would be the same. not that it would matter, quidditch tryouts were soon and lily was ready. or at least she was sure she was ready.. lily's small stature was perfect keeper build, she was fast on a broom, and had spent a lot of time bettering her reflexes. yeah, some of the people trying out might have been a bit more experienced but lily was way more determined. the youngest potter had never wanted anything in her life more than this, not even getting a good grade. this was her chance to show that she was a potter, that she was really good at something that mattered to her parents. okay, scratch that, good grades mattered but this would prove that she was a part of the family. both her mother and father's side of the family had been part of the quidditch team, and she wanted to be a part of it to. it was like a family thing.
lily had been giving so much thought into it that she had almost missed her cousin's words. she didn't even need to turn to know that it was roxy. she had heard that voice so many times this summer that it was impossible to miss. though they had a huge family, the weasley's could tell each other apart in an instant. they were a close-knit family, then again it also helped that they chose to live so close to each other. roxy was a year older than lily, but they were still pretty close. lily had no sisters so her girl cousins were practically like her sisters. lily smiled at her cousin's words, she had confided in roxy and her other girl cousins about her desire to try out for the quidditch team. they had all encouraged her but lily was always too afraid to bring it up because she knew her brothers were too overprotective. even if they let her be on the team, james would probably be constantly watching her and worrying about whether she would get hurt by a bludger or not. "hey roxy. and yes, i'm actually trying out. hopefully the captain things i'm good enough to be a part of the team" lily said.
"do you know who the captain is this year?" lily asked, before something shiny caught her eye. she looked at lily's uniform and became wide-eyes when she saw the shiny captain badge pinned to it. lily was a bit speechless, and actually thought she was seeing things. not that her cousin was a bad player or anything, she was actually really good. it was just so surprising that she had not told anyone yet.
sorry if i rambled a lot at first |
