i quit, i'm done._______________________________ When the pencil started shaking in her hand she knew something was wrong. Kiera ran up to her calender as her hands continued trembling obnoxiously. She curse to herself silently once she realized what the day was. In about 36 hours there would a full moon. How did she miss it this time? She always thought about the full moon in a whole week in advance. Always. She shook her head as she rummaged through her nightstand for her huge supply of wolfsbane potions. She hastily grabbed one up and had difficulty trying to drink it all. The disgusting taste would never go away no matter how many times she drink the rubbish liquid. The fact that her hands trembling made it very hard to guide the drink to her mouth wasn't helpful either.
Kiera threw on a simple black pea coat and scooped up her notebook and several pencils. She would take a trip outside because her room was suddenly becoming very uncomfortable and stuffy. Her breathing started to quicken a little at the thought of it and she basically ran out of her Common Room in fear. Drinking her wolfsbane potion late always made her feel horrid. Sometimes she wondered if her father ever thought about this whenever he created werewolf children like her or bit people to turn them into werewolves. The thought of wanting to put people through this kind of misery sickened her. Not even Kiera's mind could dwell on that for long.
The air was so crisp and cool as Kiera ran outside into the afternoon sun. Being Fall it thankfully wasn't too hot nor too cold. Just right like the little Bear's porridge. Goldilocks had some weird intentions by going into a Bear's home to eat and sleep there. What kind of person would take a Bear's home and think of it as a bed and breakfast? Kiera smirked and shook her head once again to stop herself from going into that spill of thoughts. Goldilocks wasn't worth to be a whole inner debate within herself.
Kiera continued running until she reached the very edge of the Forbidden Forest. Sometimes this place could be haunting to Kiera. There were creatures worse than her in these forests. Other times Kiera seems to be very intrigued by it though, especially around the full moon because she wonders if she allowed herself to be her werewolf self when she phased if she would fit into the animal society of the forest. Would she got her own social ranking and everything like she had when she was a human? Too bad Kiera would never try to test that theory out.
She went just a giant tree or two into the forest and sat down at the roots of the third one in. With her back against the trunk of the tree she flipped open her notebook that was halfway full hoping to get some writing down on this trip. Her hand was still trembling awfully and it would be impossible for her to write yet. Just an hour or two until that potion kicks in and then she'd be able to enjoy some inner peace. _________________________________________ it's no fair. it's no fun. tag: eric. notes: none.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]on my own, here we go --- He followed her with his eyes. Her small frame seemed to dance through the air as she moved. He found that more and more he would wait and watch her. It had been this way for so long now. Her world was filled with strange visions, things Eric would never fully understand. The more he knew her, the more he grew to know that these things never really mattered. It was something about the girl that kept him close to her, as close as he would allow himself to be. She moved toward the same spot as before, the same spot as it always would be. And his mind flew back to the last term they spent at the school. It was like a waking dream so clear in his memory.
The night was beautiful, even if he felt little of the cold air that moved through the trees. His dark eyes turned to the sky, and he blinked lightly at the moon hanging over his head. It was as if the silver orb followed him everywhere he turned. It was an illusion he had enjoyed as a young child, and one he was fond of even to this day. A single pale hand moved through his long hair as he looked back to the trail. His teeth bit down on his bottom lip as he watched. She had forgotten, again. It was often the case with her, but Eric had grown used to the little oddities that led her life. He felt he knew her well enough to know that it would dawn on her, and she would rush to this location soon enough. After all, she would need him before it was all said and done. She always did.
He blinked the memory back into the folds of his mind as she reached the closest end of the forest. He nodded to no one in particular as he stood up and started to follow. She hated to let anyone see her change, at least this was the impression he got. However, as powerful as she would become, he could never let her go alone. Sometimes she still changed, but sometimes the potions worked well. The thought of her in human form within the tall trees unnerved him. He would never wish her to be alone with whatever lived in those dark spots. A living abyss, this is what he thought of the forest. His Keira could not be allowed to roam there alone. His feet pointed in that direction, and Eric followed.
The wind lifted lightly as he moved, his eyes picking out her form ahead. Eric had to job to keep pace, but soon was within touching distance. Of course she would know he was there, Eric was always there. He moved to pace her silently. His feet know walking in step with hers as he glanced over to her shorter form. His lips moved into a light smile, and he looked back to the trail ahead. Around the next corner would be the boulder, the spot where he had first touched her. It was not a romantic touch, far from it actually, but the electric had given him pause all the same. He forced the thought away, as he normally did when he thought of her in a tender way. His aspect of her had to remain on business, or he might find his ideas moving in a direction that scared the hell out of him.
Eric would not love her, no matter what.

i quit, i'm done._______________________________ Kiera's heart started racing when footsteps could be heard behind her. She stood up unbelievably fast and whirled around with her eyes wide and proceeded to wrap her arms around herself probably looking as paranoid as hell. It took her too long to realize it was Eric and to feel relieved about it. How in the world didn't she expect that? Eric was always there. He always knew when the full moon was around and..he just always knew in general. Usually Kiera expected Eric to pop up when she chose a hiding spot but for some reason Eric's appearance wasn't expected at all. She took a few slow deep breaths and stared at him still wide eyed before responding.
"Hello Eric." she greeted him in a voice barely above a whisper. It wasn't much quieter than her normal speaking voice but you could sense a difference. Now her whole body started trembling it she was starting to get scared, very scared. Eric probably couldn't tell it though, or at least she hoped that her blank face wouldn't show the fear building up within her every second. When she takes a potion usually she relaxes as the seconds go by, this time she was just getting progressively worse.
Kiera didn't even weigh the pros and cons as she made her next decision. Instead of trying to hide it she decided she would just let her emotions run it's course because she felt worse trying to hide this awful change. If Eric wanted to butt into her werewolf business then he should have been able to know the dire consequences that come with it. She gritted her teeth and quickly sat back down on the ground in her original spot.
Maybe it was just this month that was making her like this. Were Septembers always difficult? She could hardly remember what went on an hour ago right now... She finally snapped her head back up at Eric and hissed out, "What's today? No-wait! I don't think this is a good time Eric. I'm feeling awfully out of character..."
Her voice trailed off as she suddenly stood back up and slammed her fist straight into the tree trunk she was sitting in front of. That potion must have been brewed incorrectly! That could only explain why the symptoms got worse. This of course meant that she wasn't going to be her human self when she changed now, she was going to be much much worse. With the condition she was in now though she had no way of connecting it all together and warning Eric.
Instead she just stood in the same place and stared down at her now bloody hand in disbelief her breathing slowly starting to pick up in speed. _________________________________________ it's no fair. it's no fun. tag: eric. notes: no prob. hope you enjoy some extreme werewolf drama?

He immediately knew he could be in serious trouble, but he had also came prepared to deal with just this situation. It was obvious to him what was happening, and he sighed wishing he had procured the potion for her. Instead, Eric had remained silent and allowed her to obtain the potion as she always had in the past. He cursed himself for not acting sooner, but it was far too late to even think about the past. Right now he was coming close to minutes remaining in his life. Unless, of course, his plan worked. He leaned against the nearest tree and acted as if he did not have a care in the world. Inside his chest his heart began to pick up speed. He dropped his gaze over her, and nodded.
The wind lifted giving his ears a momentary break from her ragged breathing. Eric did not know exactly how long it would be until the change consumed her, but he figured that it would only be a short span before he would have to take measures to insure his life was not forfeit. His voice was steady as he spoke, "Just remember, dear, that I am here because I care. I would not allow you to come into these woods alone. Whatever else that happens, simply happens. I will see you on the other side." He was not so certain he would see her on the other side, but he would not run away like a scared child while his friend -the closest thing he would ever have as a friend- was going through this alone. Yes, it was her curse. Yes, she never once asked him for help. Yes, he knew it was completely stupid to let his life come on the line. Yes, his actions went against everything he stood for in life. Still, there was something about her that would not let him go.
Eric glanced to her bleeding hand, then returned his eyes to her soft face. Eric sighed, and slipped a hand into his robe pocket. The leather holder was secure, and the end of his wand sat ready. He would never do a thing to harm her, but he would protect himself if she completely lost control. Eric was not stupid, and he rarely went into a situation without some sort of plan. Tonight was no different. In fact, he had placed this plan in effect a long time ago just in case a situation like this might come up. It seemed there was no avoiding it tonight, and he hoped he remembered everything. After all, what was the worst that could happen? She could kill and eat him. That did not sound like much fun to him, so he insisted to himself that he would not allow that to take place. Eric had other plans, and the other object in his deep robe pocket would be the first step in that direction. Eric smiled to her, his eyes soft and caring.
"Don't worry about me, Kiera." His voice was a soft whisper as he watched her closely. "I have been taking care of myself for a long time, tonight will be no different. I will be here when you... wake up." He tilted his head and looked to her through the part in his long bangs. He could only hope she believed him and that he would not turn out to be a liar. He really planned to be there when she changed back, unless of course he was dead and partially consumed. Eric wondered briefly what he might taste like, and quickly decided he did not want to think about it... That did not seem like much fun either.

i quit, i'm done._______________________________ It was getting difficult for Kiera to even listen to what Eric was saying to her. She considered what she could do to make this awful feeling that was building up inside of her go away. It wasn't even the full moon yet and she felt like she was going to turn any second now. Someone must have made a big mistake brewing that Wolfsbane potion she bought.
Kiera quickly tore off her pea coat nearly ripping the buttons off as she did. She then took off her long sleeve shirt and kicked off her shoes leaving herself in just a camisole and some black leggings. The cold nipped at her but it was impossible for her to notice it with all of the other feelings she had at the moment. If Kiera was actually functioning properly she would have never done this. She didn't care how ruined her clothes would get from transforming back and forth from a werewolf since she had so many. It would have made her feel very exposed especially with Eric standing right there. Right now, they seemed to be suffocating her so the less the better. At least she wasn't going so insane she stripped completely, right? Right.
Kiera nodded her head slowly and stared up at Eric without really seeing him. It was so hard to keep a hold on her real self but she needed to do it. Staring at his kind and caring face made her feel a little better and was kind of like a little reminder that she was Kiera Elise Greyback. Not a vicious werewolf ready to kill. A little voice in the back of her mind was pleading that she didn't lose her grip on reality. That little voice helped her out as well.
"I don't plan on sleeping anytime soon." Kiera muttered stupidly once Eric made his next comment. It would be nice to be able to sleep through this transformation but it wasn't very often when Kiera could sleep through her werewolf form. The Slytherin girl was still staring at Eric like if she looked away, she would lose herself. It wasn't a glare or anything, it was just an expressionless stare.
"Oh I wonder how Oliver is doing!" she piped up turning around to walk around the giant tree. She placed a finger on the trunk of it and let it drag across as she paced around it; like she was scanning a row of books in the library. Somehow she got to thinking about Oliver within all of the battles she was having within herself. He was going to be changing soon but probably not nearly as early as she was. It always gave her a little comfort knowing that she wasn't going through this alone.
Kiera stopped her pacing to sit back down in her original spot. The trembling was getting worse to the point where you could easily see her whole body shaking. She gritted her teeth and pulled her knees up to her chest. Maybe it would get better once she finally turned. Maybe the potion wasn't going to kick in until then. That was another one of the few thoughts that were keeping her comforted at the moment. "Thank you, Eric." she finally acknowledged him before she buried her arms in her face. Now it was starting to come to the painful point. Kiera let out a groan she had been trying to hold back as she shook her head irritated. _________________________________________ it's no fair. it's no fun. tag: eric. notes: meh. i tried and i tried but i think this is the best i can give you at the moment, sorry. and i don't mind the plain template.

Eric remained silent and watched her. Most of her words did not seen directed to him. He kept alert and did not look away. Even when she stripped down. He had seen her in less without her really knowing, or ever questioning it. After all, this was not the first time he would be around when she woke up from the transformation. In Eric's mind, he thought of it as her going to sleep. It was not like she was really herself when in wolf form. She was something completely different, and completely dangerous. He was well aware of the danger. But, he was ready. He did not even question himself as to why he was here with her. He did not want to investigate those emotions, or what they might mean.
She thanked him. It was a touching statement, even if he was not totally sure what she was thanking him for. He did not know what to say about that, or about Oliver. He did not think her protective brother cared for him much, and the feeling was mutual. They shared Kiera, Oliver by blood and Eric by water. They say blood is thicker than water, but Eric did not know for sure in this situation. Yes, the brother and sister was close, but he felt he knew her on a much deeper level than Oliver ever would. The two shared a curse, but what Eric and Kiera shared was such a deeper... deeper what? Eric did not know, and he pushed the thought to the back of his mind. Now was not the time to mull over those ideas, those... feelings. No, Eric remained cold inside, even if she did warm him slightly more each passing day.
He wanted to move up to her and place a hand on her shoulder. He did not move, though. He remained frozen in place. She was really sensitive about human contact, especially in this form. The few times they had actually touched had effected him more than he wished to admit. He thought it might be a good idea to remain at a distance, unless she called for him. Then, he did not know what would happen then. He filed this thought away with the thoughts of feelings, and tried to clear his mind. His eyes slid closed for a brief moment as he collected his thoughts and got himself under control. It was not easy to do with her so near, but he forced himself to relax. He was prepared. Everything was going to be alright. Eric hoped.
"Are you alright, Karrie?" He used his nickname for her. In all his life Eric had never given anyone a nickname. However, she had gained this one shortly after he had met her. It felt natural, almost as natural as it felt when he looked into her light eyes. Almost as natural as whispering her name when he was alone at night. Almost as natural... he made himself stop. He turned away and glanced through the heavy branches to the sky above. It was a beautiful night, even if it was slightly cooler than normal for this time in early Fall. He sighed silently, and turned back to her. "Do you... need... anything?" He had no idea what her response to the question might be, nor did he understand why he had asked in the first place. It sort of slipped out into the air before his mouth had discovered that he was talking. Eric did not like that thought, as he would rather remain in control of himself. Still, what if she asked to be held? Would he be able to hold her? Eric doubted that would happen, and thought himself a fool to even think of such things. He needed to remain calm, but his heart had picked up a beat.
Note: Okay, there you go. Hope it is as good as yours.

i quit, i'm done._______________________________ Kiera stood up once more feeling like maybe movement would make her feel better. She walked up very close to Eric and just stood in front of him for a moment staring up at him. He was a bit taller than her so it was quite the challenge to look up at him like that. Karrie? Oh yeah, she's Kiera. Eric's Karrie. The familiar nickname always made her feel a little more connected with her real self during those full moon days. She justed knitted her eyebrows together and continued staring up at him trying very hard to get a proper thought process going. It must have been how ogres or cyclopes felt when they tried think with their small little brains.
"Do you have your wand on you?" Kiera finally asked raising her eyebrows expectantly. Of course she would forget her wand. If she brought it down, she probably would have destroyed it in a rampage anyways. She continued looking into his eyes because it seemed like her thought process was a lot more controlled when she did so. Gosh they were such an unique color. Hazel eyes, she quite liked them. She'd have to write about that later, maybe even look up myths about what having hazel eyes mean. She liked doing silly little things like that. A smile played at her lips as she shook her head a little, "If you could figure out how to accio my wolfsbane potion down here then..." she paused when a tremor hit her bringing much pain throughout her body. She clenched her fists and let a little growl through her teeth. She trooped on to finish her sentence through her now clenched teeth, "Then I could see what's so wrong with it!"
As another wave of pain struck her she finally decided trying to hold onto that thougth process was to hard. She turned to the tree Eric was standing next to and proceeded to ram her bloodied fist into it just like she had did to the other. The pain of hitting the tree with her already slightly injured fist couldn't even compete with the pain she was starting to go through now with the transformation. The full moon wasn't supposed to be tonight though! Was it?! She must have had a mis-dated calender or something but it was impossible to confirm it through the thick branches covering the sky above them.
Kiera let out a cry of pain and allowed a few tears to run down her fast. She quickly wiped them away and looked back at Eric desperately. She held her breath for a moment and stared back into those hazel eyes like they could just save her from this. When they wouldn't do anything for her she finally shouted out, "I'm sorry! I don't know what I did to deserve this but I apologize for it! I don't want this life anymore I just..."
Her voice trailed off once she started choking up a little. Instead of holding it back like she always did, which transforming always made her want to cry. She started her heart-wrenching sobs and couldn't even look Eric in the eye as she did it. Fenrir could never hold a lower place in Kiera's mind then now. It hurt to think that he would put this curse on many other people and children too. It was awful to think of giving another person the same feelings as she had right now and she crumpled up to the ground just trying to sob the pain away.

Her words held a soft tingle for him. It was like a feather sending a shiver down his spine with each little syllable she spoke. The wind, as cold as it was, could not even have that effect on Eric. He decided to let it pass and think about it in closer detail later. For now, he had to help her the best he can. There was a chance she would not even change this night, but he figured that was highly unlikely. She was showing ever sign of the change, and he knew all of them. In fact, he almost felt like he could be an authority on werewolves. He never even felt a small curiosity about the curse before he met her. Only after his ideas of using this girl as a body guard type figure did he decide to do some study on the subject. Now, the more he grew closer to her the more his plans seem to fade into the background. He had no clue why, but he felt there was more to their relationship than that of a simple business arrangement. Another thought for another time.
Eric moved his wand out of his pocket easily. He had already had the weapon at the ready. The pointing in the direction of the castle, and murmuring of the spell was as simple as a blink of the eye. He waited, and it seemed almost as if his charm did not work until he heard the tell-tale signs of something moving through the air in their direction. Sure enough an entire wooden box had moved through the night to land casually in his outstretched palm. At first Eric was surprised to see what looked to be a jewelry box land in his hand, then he figured it out. Of course she would never leave such a precious potion laying around in plain sight. She would have locked it in something to hide it away from other prying eyes. Eric had seen the box before, of course he had... Eric had given it to her several years ago as a birthday present. The oak cube stood only a few inches high, but it was charmed to be deeper than it appeared. He wondered why she used his gift as a hiding place for something as important as her potions. It seemed Eric was going to continue to add things to his pile of thoughts to think about later that night, or early the next day when he was alone. He presented her the small plain box, and nodded.
Before he knew it she was so close to him, and his heart seemed to stop for no reason. The nearness of her was light small strikes of lightning moving through the cold air to tickle at his very senses. Her eyes did not seem to see him, but yet he felt she was looking into his very soul. Eric had a lot to hide down there, and the feeling made him cringe slightly. He fought to control that emotion, and swallowed. His dry throat clicked in the night, but the sound was covered by her speaking once again. He followed her words, but remained silent. It was more like she was thinking out loud once again. She often did this during conversations, and Eric had learned long ago to just be quiet and let her work through her thoughts. What he would not give to be able to sit inside her mind just once to see how she connected all her thoughts. She had a beautiful mind, and he did not think she had a clue that he was so attracted to her mind. His thoughts were disrupted by another attack on a defenseless tree. The pain must be getting worse for her. Eric quietly slipped his wand back into his pocket in the ready position and watched her closely.
Before he knew it she was in tears. Her apology was barely in echo in his ears when she crumpled to the ground. Eric's frozen heart seemed to shatter in that moment, and he felt a deep pain. He could not stand seeing her this way, but there was nothing he could do to help her. His words seemed galvanized in his throat and he fought to find something to say. Almost anything would do, but nothing would come out. He watched her for another moment before moving behind her. His dark eyes pierced the night as he looked down on Kiera. Eric dropped to his knees, and did the only thing he could think to do. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to his chest. He knew she was uncomfortable being touched, and he had only braved contact with her a few times in their past. However, tonight there was nothing else he could do but hold her. She had more inside her than a wolf to get out, and he was damned if he was going to walk away from her when she needed him the most now.
His mouth was only a breath from her ear as he softly held her close to him. The night blanketed them as he whispered. "I am here, I am not going anywhere, Karrie. I promise to do what I can for you." He did not know what else to add to that, so he remained silent. His lips brushed her ear as he kissed her lightly. It was the first tender action Eric had made since his recent heart-break, something he did not want to think about on a night like this. He forced all thoughts to the darkness of his mind, and concentrated on Kiera. She seemed so small in his arms, almost like she was a small child lost in a world she did not recognize. It almost broke Eric's heart, but he had to remain strong for her. He had to make sure she was alright before he thought about himself at all. This was just how it had to be for the moment. Whatever else the night would bring, he would deal with when the time came. For now, he would hold her for as long as she needed... everything else no longer mattered.
Notes: Writing at three in the morning, almost three-thirty now... Hope it does not sound too... Ugh, Twilight-y. LOL!

i quit, i'm done._______________________________ When Eric first wrapped her up in his arms she was very shocked. She didn't know what was happening and nearly pushed him away. Then it kind of connected, it was a hug. A comforting hug at that. Kiera put on a small shaky smile but through the pain it didn't last long. Why did he keep putting himself through this? Kiera hated having to deal with this herself, why would anyone else on this world want to deal with it as well? It always confused Kiera and no matter how many different ways Kiera thought about it none of it seemed to connect with her. Maybe she just wasn't looking at through the right perspective. That didn't matter too her much at the moment. She had other things on her mind.
The hug made her feel so much more connected to herself rather then feeling like a werewolf, it was shocking. Kiera's trembling even seem to slow down a little and she kept her eyes widened as she thought about this. She slowly wrapped her arms around him as well and leaned her head into him. Kiera liked this, she didn't even want to think much about it. That was mostly because of the whole werewolf thing and there would definitely be a flurry of thoughts and maybe even regrets of it later, who knew?
She slowly ended the hug herself though. It wasn't safe for him to be so close to her no matter how much she wanted to have that safe and calm feeling again. Instead of trying to explain this though she just kept silence. Words wouldn't really work out for her right now, they never really had anyways. She wiped the stray tears off her face and took the box that he had gotten for her. Instead of trying to remember the combination for the simple muggle lock she used to keep it closed, she just tore the lock off of it. It took some of the oak wood along with it leaving a jagged hole where the lid and the box itself met. Of course she would regret that later but it wouldn't take to long to fix. She hurredly threw it off to the side and opened the box.
She took out one of the potions and looked it over carefully. There seemed to be nothing wrong with it at all. The liquid was kept in a simple brown vial. She uncapped it and immediately saw what was wrong with it. It wasn't smoking at all, it always had just a small of smoke rising off it no matter how old it was. How could she not have noticed that one? Kiera took the vial angrily and tossed it down into the dark depths of the forest and it gave her an evil happiness when she heard it explode against a tree. She opened the next one and saw it did the same, it must have been one of the older packages she had ordered that were all duds. It was purchased at some store within Diagon Alley and she had to make a mental note never to return there.
Kiera continued checking bottles and she continued throwing them in the same spot in the forest. Everytime they crashed against the tree an awfully unusal enjoyment filled up within her and finally she let out a malicious little giggle. She kind of forgot that Eric was even there probably looking onto her like she was a demon now. It didn't really concern her at the moment. After finally going through a dozen potions she opened up one that was smoking a little. Kiera let out a little cheer and immediately drank it all in one gulp.
She coughed a little placing a hand over her chest. That stuff never seemed to get better in taste, sometimes it seemed to get worse. The speed of this one was phenomonal as she started feeling more like herself already. She felt that this one would be a lucky one and that once she did transform, she might be able to sleep through it all. As her own mind and thoughts started returning to her and she collected her brain she remembered that Eric was still here. The werewolf looked up at him and blushed a little, "I apologize Eric. I wish you hadn't seen that, that was downright absurd!" she mumbled a little cleaning up the empty vial she had thrown on the ground and returning it to her box. She tucked the broken lock in the box as well and shut the lida nd proceeded to sit down next to it.
"Thank you very much, though. Now I feel much better. Those other ones must have been brewed incorrectly, I think it was making the symptoms worse!" Kiera explained gathering her clothes and slipped back on her shirt ignoring the coat. Now that she had her common sense her cheeks were a deep scarlet as she thought about what she had done in front of Eric. It was degrating and humiliating, at least it would be an interesting story to write in her journal later.

When she had let go he had dropped back to one knee. With each passing throw of the small glass vials Eric winced. His hands eased into his pockets. One had wrapped firmly around his wand, the other wrapped around the other object he had brought into the forest with him. His eyes followed her movements until she downed a smoking bottle, and with a sigh he stood and took some steps away from her. His heart beat returned to an almost normal drumming within his chest. He hesitated and pulled the contaminated deer leg from his pocket. He looked down at the long chunk of meat and threw it away from himself to the shadows of the nearby trees. It was a simple idea, one chunk of deer meat that had several different potions injected into the leg. One might have slowed her down momentarily, enough to let Eric go through with his next step of planning or to get away if needed. Another would have protected her from any pain she would cause to herself in her hunting. The potions would soon wear off, and he would have to obtain a new leg. That did not matter to him.
He nodded when she spoke. "Please, let me get the potions for you next time? I will make sure they are fresh." His eyes moved down to hers, and then he looked away. The moment of the hug had passed, but it left a lasting impression on him that he had not been prepared to deal with. It had shaken him to his very core, even though the emotions were not reflected on his face. His eyes turned away to the clearing only yards away from where she sat. He looked at the tracks in the soft under-belly of the woods. He glanced down the path to the large boulder that sat in the middle of the opening. "Lover's Rock," as most of the other students might call it should they dare this far into the Forbidden Forest. It was there that they had shared their first touch, long ago. This seemed like a world away to Eric now. Almost a life time ago.
Younger. She seemed so much younger, this small carefree blond that Eric stood before one night in the woods. Her clear eyes had looked into him, and she had smiled over something he had said. His exact words escaped him at the moment, but her smile had been so pure, so innocent that it stole his breath that night. A ray of moonlight had dripped down to light up her soft features, and Eric found himself tilting his head and looking through the part in his dark bangs. She was so magical, almost faerie-like in the way she looked up to him with that smile perched on her red lips. A small drift of golden hair had fallen until her pale cheek. It captured Eric's attention almost mesmerizing him. His hand had moved without a single though, and he brushed the hair away. His fingers lingered and moved down the soft skin of her cheek. Her eyes had locked onto his, and his heart paused in it's constant rattling. The moment had frozen in time, always a beautiful memory to Eric. The lightning he felt course through his system at the smallest of touches had made him wonder what had happened.
At first he thought that she had, maybe, casted some sort of spell on him. But then she had broken away, she turned and ran down the path. It all happened in a blink of an eye, and Eric was confused. All he could do was blink after her and wonder what had just taken place. It was three days later when he next saw her, and neither one of the two had ever spoken about that moment in time, that single second, that touch shared. Eric thought of it often. There were times when she would get this look in her eyes and it would send him instantly back to that time he had touched her cheek. It was itched in his memory, and frozen in his heart; Eric would never forget their first touch even if he always wondered why she had ran away. He might ask her one day, maybe tonight... then again it was all just a memory, wasn't it?
He blinked away the memory and turned back to Karrie. His dark eyes pierced the night to see her as the moon crossed directly overhead. Several small beans made their way out through the branches, but not enough to light her up as it had so long ago. Eric wanted that touch again, but he never dared. The embrace they had shared moments before was so fresh on his skin. He could still feel her small head pressed into him, her hair dancing on the small part of his chin, and the smell of this girl moving into him to forever claim a spot in his soul. Eric blinked it away much like the memory from their past. He thought it was time to give Kiera some serious consideration. He had to know what this was he was feeling inside what was suppose to be an icy heart. He had to know how his business ideas had faded to turn into something completely different, something he did not understand. Eric had to have time to think, and think about her. He smiled through the confusion, and looked at the ground between them.
"There will never come a time when you will ever have to thank me, Karrie. This I promise you." His voice still soft as the air moving through the trees. He could not lift his eyes to look upon her again, though. He was so scared of what he might see, and what it might do to him. No, not of the werewolf that now laid dormant inside her, but of the heart that beat within the chest of the girl that confused him the most. Eric was scared to know why she made him feel this way... Eric, who had never really been afraid of anything in his life, feared Kiera the most.
Note: Thank you for liking it. These two seem to fit like a puzzle!

i quit, i'm done._______________________________ Kiera could only nod her head in agreement to Eric purchasing potions for her next time. Another wave of pain decided to hit her mercifully and she had to keep her fists clenched to her side. There was only one bonus of being werewolf and that was the increased sense and agility. Kiera walked over to a tree amidst the pain and grabbed onto the lowest branch. She pulled herself up and from then on the branches were close enough together where she could slink up a few feet higher. She finally found a good spot and could see a farily okay view of the sky. The full moon was very close to rising completely. Kiera quickly clambered down a few branches with her eyes a little widened.
She was going to tell Eric something but her voice seemed to catch her in body as the trembling increased instantneously. The full moon must have rised in the sky now. She tried to run away from Eric, being anywhere near him was dangerous. Thankfully he was already a few feet away from her because she only made it a few steps before she had to clutch a tree for support.
Everytime she changed, it felt like someone was setting her on fire. A burning sensation rippled throughout her body as it morphed from a human's body to a wolf's. She clenched her teeth together to hold her screams back. Her clothes were shattered as she grew quite a bit when she was a werewolf. She closed her now sickeningly green eyes and waited for the whole process to end. It always lasted much longer then the few seconds it was in reality. Her face lengthened and her shoulders were hunched as she started gasping for breath. She dragged her long claws into the tree and her eyes snapped open once the transformation was over.
The werewolf snapped her head behind her and let out a little snarl. She stared at Eric for a long time as her human mind raced to catch up with her now werewolf body. She sniffed a little and it wasn't until now that she noticed the deer leg Eric had thrown out. Kiera now had her mind under control now, she knew she didn't need that. Instead Kiera just let out a little whimper and hid behind the tree she was standing by so she was out of Eric's vision. Being a werewolf wasn't something she was necessarily proud of and even though she knew Eric didn't mind, she still tried her best just to keep it away from him.
Kiera pawed at the ground a little before curling up in a ball at the base of the tree. She was exhausted and sleep was the only thing on her mind. She would give Eric plenty of attention with apologies and thanks later. For now she needed to keep a grip on her human mind and sleep through all of this. _________________________________________ it's no fair. it's no fun. tag: eric. notes: i was having real trouble trying to describe the transformation. i'm sorry for the shortness of it all. i want more but i just can't get anymore out of me! and sorry for the wait as well.

Eric almost snapped to attention, and wished he had waited a little longer to toss away the meat. He did not have time to think about it before her small frame shimmered within the light of the moon, the slivers of light dancing around her as he watched closely. His fingers brushed the wand in his pocket and all his senses seemed to sharpen. What ever was going to transpire was going to happen within the next few moments. All he could do was hope he would be fast enough to defend himself if he needed a defense.
His eyes never moved from her as she changed. He thought it was oddly beautiful, and could never tear his eyes from her was she formed. The pain she must have felt always tore at his heartstrings, but at the same time he could not help but want to watch her. It was magic in it's rawest form, and she was the only one he could be close enough to to witness such a thing. Eric never lied to himself when it came to Karrie. He knew she was one of the most attractive girls he had ever seen. But, when she was in wolf form the attractiveness seemed to triple in his eyes. The werewolf was beautiful in a different sort of way, almost a natural attraction rose from him. It was not a sexual thing. He could not describe exactly what it was, but he still considered her beautiful. Eric had never told her this, and probably never would. He did not know if she would understand anyway.
He heard the small snarl and it pulled him from his thoughts. He did not move the wand from his pocket, but his hand wrapped firmly around the wood. He lowered his eyes to the wolf's body as to not challenge her by looking into her eyes. Eric could not be sure if she was in control, or if the creature was in charge. If it was the creature, her inner wolf, then he was going to be in some serious trouble. It would take all his talent just to save himself. However, Eric was not afraid. When she moved behind the tree, Eric relaxed slightly. She was alright. Now, she would either run from him or hopefully sleep. Eric did not know which it might be.
He did not wait to find out. His steps took him to the tree quickly, and he lifted his body from the ground by pulling himself up from a lower branch. Eric circled the tree and climbed higher so he could have a vantage point to look down upon her. He was relieved to see her curling into a sleeping position. It was going to be a long night so he tried to make himself comfortable. As if she need protection, Eric smiled. Yet, he intended to watch over her all night like he often did when he could. Sometimes she would hunt, and there was no way he could keep up. Once she had hunted, and he slipped into his own uncomfortable sleep. He had woke up with her close to him, a half eaten cow close to his legs. It had almost been as if the wolf had brought him a gift. Eric could not be sure, but at least he would not have to worry about a hunt tonight. No, she seemed content with sleep. He quietly moved his wand from his pocket, rested it across his legs, and pulled his robe around him. He watched her by the light of the moon, and thought about why he was always there for her. One day he would have to face that question, and he would have to answer it honestly. Eric did not know the answer himself.
Note: Think we should flash forward to the next morning? Or, should we close the thread, and start a new one? Up to you.

i quit, i'm done._______________________________ Sleep came over her very fast. Maybe it was taking the potion so close to changing. She had no idea at all what the answer could be. Kiera woke up in the morning to find herself in her human form. How did she sleep through changing back from a werewolf to a human? She really was exhausted but no level of exhaustion should have been enough to sleep through that painful part. Kiera shook her head and quickly grabbed the pair of clothes she had shrunk in her coat pocket slipping them on. Just some simple athletic pants, a tank top, and some old worn out sneakers. Convincing her mom that she worked out at school was a nice way to get some comfy athletic clothes in her wardrobe. She appreciated them the most after full moons, her body was always very achy.
Kiera stretched a little and started picking up some of the torn clothes she had left on the ground. Sunlight barely fought it's ways through the thick branches and the only indication of morning was the few rays lucky enough to get through that scatterd around her. No wait, it would be them. Kiera could here his quiet breathing up in the trees. Maybe she didn't wake up because she knew that she didn't wnat to face Eric after the awful mess she was last night. Her head was hurting just thinking about it. Kiera grabbed her coat and wrapped it around herself to be protected from the chilly winds that started picking up. She even slept through that? Why couldn't every change be like that?
Kiera grabbed her notebook and pen and slowly and as silently as she could climbed the tree that she had just woken up by earlier. Surely enough as she got her footing on the lowest branch she could see Eric a few branches higher, sleeping what appeared to be peaceful. Kiera climbed up to the branch closest to his. The branches were so thick it was no way you could send movement to anyone else on the tree. She got herself in a comfortable position with her back against the trunk of the tree and her legs straight out on the branch. She opened her notebook and began to write:
So, dear journal of mine, where do I begin in telling you the hectic night I just had? Some of it is very clouded in my head but I can still feel the humiliation and pity I inflicted on myself perfectly. Once again Eric was here to witness this all. How he still manages to see me as the same person in the morning, I have no idea. I must say that I really do appreciate it though. It let's me have a little faith that I'm not as much of a monster as I like to think of myself as.
Kiera stopped writing to look back over at Eric. He looked very innocent when he was asleep it was kind of amusing. Like a little boy that had no worries in the world. A small smile played at her lips as she took note of this in her mind. Should she wake him up and allow him to go back to his own dorm? Sleeping on a branch was awfully uncomfortable, Kiera knew this from experience. He looked so darn happy and peaceful though that it seemed like it would be a crime to wake him up. So Kiera continued scratching her thoughts into her notebook instead. _________________________________________ it's no fair. it's no fun. tag: eric. notes: i shall fast forward it.

They danced around in soft circles, the light dripping down from them spraying off the floating candles above their heads. The whole Great Hall had been transformed into a platform to move them above everyone else standing in the shadows. To him none of the others existed. The only person he saw was the small girl in his arms. Music moved through the air as he twirled her. She laughed, carefree with his touches. He joined in the laughing, his voice soft and ringing as he moved with her to the edge of the platform and dipped her over the corner. He did not let go, and pulled her up just as quick to twirl her back to the center. A wink moved down on his lid as he smiled to her. This night could be nothing if it was not perfect in ever slight detail.
Her silver gown flitted through the small light that surrounded them to send tiny beads of glittering light on the walls and floor. Her hair was down and loose to flow around her head with each change of direction they made. Her innocent eyes sparkled as she looked into his. It was almost as if tonight was made for only the two of them. His dress robes were brand new, only to be used on this single occasion. Silver threads matched perfectly her dress, and the bows waved in the air as they moved. A tilt of his head sent him level with hers, and for the first time in his life he felt what a perfect kiss might be. His lips pressed against hers to send his heart in a dizzy round within the confines of his chest. He could not help but send his tongue to tickle her lower lip as she kissed him back. Her small arms wrapped around his head as his own pulled her from her waist. The two stopped moving as the kiss deepened. His tongue moved to find hers waiting for him. The sparks flew as the two became one in a moment of passion that could have no rival in any written word, be it romance novel or lover's poem.
For Eric, it was the perfect moment spent with someone he loved. His Kiera.
Eric smiled in his sleep and almost rolled over. His eyes leaped open as his body rocked on the branch. His wand slipped from it's haphazard perch on his legs to fall to the dirty floor under them. His hands rocketed out to the sides ans he made purchase in the surrounding branches. His back rolled to press against the trunk of the tree, and his dark eyes moved to look down at the distance he had almost fallen. Once his balance was obtained he laughed. He glanced up to see her sitting close by in another branch, dressed once again and writing in her book. It had only taken him moments to regain his balance and recognize his surroundings. He had not intended to fall asleep but he had done so looking down at her sleeping form and seeing her soft eyes in his mind's eye. Eric moved cautiously to the middle of the limb, and sat back down to dangle his legs over the sides once again.
The dream was still fresh in his mind, even though he had just felt a scare of waking in an unfamiliar place and almost falling to what could have been a real bloody mess. He did not know what to make of the dream but he found it hard to look at her while he was thinking about it. He tried to push the thoughts out of his mind, but he kept feeling her on his lips. None of it had ever happened, of course. Eric wished he knew what it meant and felt like the meaning was ready to smack him right on the face. He sighed, and looked up to her. "Well, I suppose it is fall. Yeah?" Such a corny thing to say, but still something that would fight off the cloudy remains of the dream and let her know he was alright. Actually, now that he thought of it, he felt a bit stiff. He had no idea how long he had slept, nor how long she had been sitting to watch over him. He decided not to worry about it, and turned his attention back to Karrie. "Alright there then?"
Notes: Hope this does not sound too rushed.
