[atrb=width,400] tales of love & hatred lily walked out of the ball, shoes in hand. her curfew was up and she was forced to return to her dorm just when the party was getting good. lily had to stop for a second, and think about whether or not she actually meant it. after all, she had spent the first hour with a boy that bored her to death, and the rest of the time with alex. the boy she hated more than anyone in the world. well, hate was such a strong words, more like the boy that annoyed her to death. yes, that was better. anyways, she might have not wanted to admit it, but she actually had a semi-good time with him. okay, now she was lying to herself. she actually did have a good time with him. his usually annoying self didn't bother her tonight, if anything she found him witty and charming. god, this was terrible. she couldn't think of alex that way, she just couldn't. tonight was going to be that one exception because there was absolutely no way she would fall for such an arrogant boy.
lily thought of all the reasons why she disliked him so much as she made her way up the stairs. unfortunately, she couldn't think of anything exception his big head. if she tried to come up with more reasons, she would just see the smile he gave her, his eyes, the way he held her when they were dancing. get a hold of yourself, lily she thought as she made it to the third floor. there were hardly any people around, most of them still at the ball. the younger years were probably in bed by now. lily felt like such a child as she went to join them. it was so unfair that she was forced to go just because she had overprotective brothers. even if james hadn't noticed that she was still at the ball this late, albus probably would. being the only girl sucked on moments like this. lily soon reached the six floor, and it only too five minutes before she reached the seventh. she headed towards the gryffindor tower, having yet to notice that she had been followed.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OH MY JUST PLEASE TRY TO SHUT UP AND KISS ME BABY The Words: 699 The Outfit: X The Notes sorry it took so long! Alexander James Ackerly sighed and sat down with his drink. It had been a good night so far, but now Lily had left and he really did not want to go back to his date because she was boring and nothing compared to Lily. He thought that he had given her a good time in the end, with brief periods of douchiness, but that always happened around her. She seemed to enjoy herself as well which was success in Alex's mind because Lily Luna Potter had fun with him, Alexander James Ackerly, her sworn enemy and the one person she was ever mean to, which happened to be unfortunate because he was hopelessly in love with her. It was a rough life for him, especially since his mother introduced him to drawing and he was forever stuck sketching her face on the side of his notes or books. It was a bad habit to say the least. As all of his friends told him, "He would get over it." Alex had thought that in second year, but three years later, nothings changed and it's still not just "some phase he's going through" like everyone thought. Alex chugged his butter beer, he couldn't wait till he could get the real stuff at the Halloween after parties. He heard that one of the seventh years were throwing one in the Ravenclaw Common Room, fifth years and up. Luckily, he was a fifth year, but previous years his brother and sister had helped him stay in since he was a "cool little kid" according to the seventh years last year, plus it helped that everyone loved his eldest brother.
As Alex went to go get another butter beer, warming up for the fire whiskey that would come later, he looked over at his date dancing with her friends. He felt kind of bad, ditching her and everything, but it's not like she didn't expect it, that's what usually happened at parties that Lily attended. But he could've payed more attention to her, but she had been having a good time with Jonathan, Lily's date, so it probably wasn't the worst night for her. Alex sighed, wondering what to do. He didn't want to do anything or dance with anyone, still bummed that Lily had had to go. Maybe he could talk to James about having her curfew be pushed back, but that would be too suspicious and James would murder him if he ever found out that he wanted his sister. The Potter boys were very protective about that. Alex put his glass down, deciding against getting some punch that had apparently been spiked, and made his mind up. He got his tuxedo jacket and put it back on, loosening his bow tie and letting a button loose. He put his hand through his hair, making sure it wasn't totally out of control. Alex ran up the stairs, hopefully he could catch Lily before she made it to her common room. He saw her bright red hair ahead of him and he slowed down as she made it to the sixth floor. Only one more floor until he lost her.
"LILY! Lily wait!" Alex ran up to her and that's where his plan ended. He hadn't thought about what he was going to say. "I love you?" "When I ask you out twenty-four seven I actually mean it?" Alex ran a hand through his hair and thought of the first thing he could say, "Hi? Oh god, I'm sorry, Lily, I thought I would just run up here and serenade you or something, but obviously that's not working out, but I just wanted to say that I had a lovely time tonight," Alex breathed in heavily, having said that all in one breath. It was probably the most sincere he had ever been with Lily, always trying to mask his feelings as arrogance and always having a cool demeanor when he truly had no idea what he was doing. "Oh, and you look gorgeous," always good to compliment. Alex scratched his head, give her a hopeful glance, truly not knowing what else to say to the love of his life. Be mine?

[atrb=width,400] tales of love & hatred lily didn't want to be stuck in her room all by herself. the last time she checked, her friends were still at the ball and would probably not get in till late. like always, there would be an after-ball party that she would not be allowed to go into. not even now that she was a fifth year. sneaking it sounded good but she was sure that her brothers would spot her in an instant and she didn't want this night to get ruined. she hated to admit it, but alex had not ruined it, if anything, he had made it as good as it was. but now that she wasn't around he would probably go off with another girl. jealousy bubbled inside lily, and as much as she tried to shake it off, it became impossible. somehow, the boy had been able to make her feel jealous after only one night with him. lily kept thinking about it, hoping those thoughts would just make her old feelings return. luckily, she would have a whole weekend to avoid him and just remind herself of how horrible her was. sadly, there was a higher being out there that either really hated lily or really loved alex. either way, there was someone calling her and lily had a good idea of who it was. not that she could set his voice apart from anyone else or anything. oh who was she kidding, she knew it was alex the minute he said her name.
she was flattered and relieved that he had not gone to find some other girl but lily didn't let her face show those emotions. she didn't want obnoxious alex to return. lily should have kept walking, or she should have run, anything. but she stayed in her spot and turned so that alex would catch up. his words surprised her, not because of what he said but because of how sincere he sounded. he was usually so arrogant or so sure that she would have a good time with him. a smile tugged at her lips but lily didn't want to be fooled by alex. she had done a good job of keeping her cool and not acting like those other girls for years, why would she change now. still, she had to be courteous, didn't she? "umm, i did too. even if i did get stuck with you" lily said, giving him a smile to let him know that she didn't mean it in a bad way. ablush crept up lily's cheeks, but they had done that so many times today that she was sure one more wouldn't hurt. "thanks" she said, twirling her hair nervously. she wasn't really sure why he had followed her, maybe he got bored and wanted to be with her. or he was just making sure she got back okay before he went back to the ball. "what are you doing here, anyways?" lily asked, much too curious to keep the question to herself.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OH MY JUST PLEASE TRY TO SHUT UP AND KISS ME BABY The Words: 490 The Outfit: X The Notes yeahhh finally replied! Truthfully, Alex didn't expect Lily to turn around, she was probably still mad at him for ruining her night, but he had BEHAVED and had been nice and FUN. And she was just being stubborn if she would have said that she didn't have a good time because he could tell that she did. Alex caught up to Lily, it wasn't very hard seeing as she had stopped walking, and waited for her response. Those few seconds went by torturously slow. Lily's face wasn't showing very much emotion and Alex was just beyond nervous of rejection. Sure, he had taken a lot of rejection from Lily, but he had never been more vulnerable than he was now. He was putting himself on the line for her and he was almost positive that wearing his heart on his sleeve was not going to do him good. He always liked to follow the age old advice, "You never tell a girl you like her, it makes you look like an idiot." In the end, it turned out to be true, he felt like an idiot, and sure as hell looked like one in his tux.
Alex smiled up at her, making himself look at her in the face rather than his feet. At least she was being nice about all this. Alex felt his insides squirm as Lily swirled a little piece of her hair, she looked so cute doing that, it was one of his favorite habits of hers, she just looked so adorable it hurt. "You're welcome, Lily," Alex made sure not to be a douchebag and say 'lils' because that would just upset her and maybe if when they started dating he could use all of his pet names. He had made a list of them in his third year, keeping them in his 'private box' that only he could open. Because he did not want people finding that list or any of the other pathetic Lily things he had. Alex laughed at her obvious question. He really didn't know what he was doing up her himself. "Um, well, the ball was really boring without you and your dance moves, so I left and decided to find you myself. Your brothers never said that you couldn't hang out with people after the ball. But only if you want to, I don't want to make you hang out with me any more than you've already had to," Alex spluttered out. He was not using his words very well. Why was he getting so flustered? He was usually confident in his actions, but this woman just stripped him of everything. Oh the joys of young love. Maybe he would look back on this day and his stupid, vulnerable self with laughter because he was such a dimwit. Nobody liked stuttering emotional guys. Alex shuffled his feet a little and nervously tossled his hair, looking up at Lily with wide blue eyes.

[atrb=width,400] tales of love & hatred lily had removed her headband moments before, so her hair was in it's usual messy form. her mother would always comment on how the three children had inherited their father's uncontrollable hair. but lily loved it, to her it was just another thing that made her special. but right now, she felt embarrassed, and because of alex no less. a whirlwind of emotions that lily had never felt about alex before were trying to push out all of her old feelings about the boy. she wished things were easier and tonight never happened, but she was sure she would have been more depressed if it hadn't. she smiled, surprised that he had refrained from calling her lils. then again, he had already spent most of the night calling her that and by now he should have understood that it wasn't going to make her dislike him less. strange thing was, she did dislike him less. as much as lily hated to admit it, she liked him. just the mere thought of liking him was strange to her. it was like all of the sudden developing a love for spiders, which lily would never do because she thought those things were extremely creepy. but that was just an example, not that alex was anything like a spider. he was more handsome and lily was sure spiders weren't good dancers.
lily was a bit surprised by alex's words, the boy was usually so composed and tricked lily into being with him. of course, the most proper example would be tonight's date switch. she wanted to say yes but that was so unlike lily. she just wanted some time to clear her head and get away from the spell that alex seemed to have her in at the moment. but she didn't want to be all alone in room, but it was alex. lily was so confused, and alex made it harder. he just looked at her with his big blue eyes, which made lily melt. "no they didn't, but i'm not sure... i mean what if they come and check up on me. not that i don't want to be with you but i mean, i don't. not that you're bad or anything" lily hoped none of her words offended alex, but she was just so confused as to what she wanted. she thought about waiting to see the expression on alex's face was after her ramble, but it would break her heart if his expression was one of anger or pain. lily didn't want to care so much about the boy but she couldn't help it. even if he hadn't made the night better, she would have felt guilty about making him feel bad. "i guess a few minutes wouldn't hurt thought" lily added with a small smile. god why is this so confusing lily thought.
lily could barely look at alex, her thoughts were all muddled. alex had never been able to get under her skin like this, so why was today so different. she wasn't sure but one thing she was sure about, she didn't want tonight to end yet.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OH MY JUST PLEASE TRY TO SHUT UP AND KISS ME BABY The Words: 437 The Outfit: X The Notes the kiss is soon! hahaha Alex looked at Lily's messy hair, she looked so beautiful when it was all messed up. He liked it when she didn't seem so put together and just let the wind take her hair. That was another thing that he loved about Lily, she didn't really seem to care when her hair was messed or trivial things like that, she embraced it for her uniqueness to never seem to have "perfect" hair, it was uncontrollable and she liked it like that. Alex sighed to himself as Lily politely rejected him. The hurt flashed briefly against his features, but he tried to mask it as quickly as he could. Alex pulled himself together a gave her a small smile, "That's okay, I understand," like hell he understood. She didn't want to spend time with him. Next time, Champ. he thought to himself, trying at least to pick up his spirits by referring to himself as Champ. If nobody else was around, he would've laughed. Champ, what a quality nickname.
Lily's face seemed to soften as she granted him a few minutes with her, along. Alex wanted to pause time for a few minutes and run around the whole school jumping for joy, his first success at trying to make Lily tolerate him. Instead, he refrained himself to a simple happy look at Lily, to see if she was joking or not. In his mind, Alex went over what his friends had told him not to do around Lily: "don't being an asshole", "don't touch your hair too much", "be sincere, none of the douchebaggy crap you give her", "don't make a move, you want to have friendship, then a relationship." So many thoughts were swimming around Alex's head. He couldn't screw this up, it was his one big chance and he would never forgive himself if he lost her. He couldn't put up his walls like he usually did. He had to be open, be funny, but not vulgar funny, and just be a genuinely nice guy. Alex gulped, thinking of all the rules he had to follow. He looked up at Lily, she was actually giving him this chance. He let his doubt get the rest of him as he exhaled a simple, hopeful, "Really?" Alex smiled down at her, mesmerized at how beautiful she could always look, with the light shining on her at just the right angle, he nearly sighed and crumbled to the ground. Get a hold of yourself, man. Alex straightened his tux and went to fix his hair, but stopped himself, contenting his hands with brushing off the dust on his tuxedo.

[atrb=width,400] tales of love & hatred lily had moved on from worrying about her hair, to nibbling on the bottom half of her life. all these habits only arose when she was nervous, and boy was she nervous. this was all typical for her, she was a rather nervous person. the only strange thing was that alex was the reason she was acting this way. the boy had actually started to break down the wall that lily specially put up just for him, and she didn't like it at all. she tried to bring mean lily back, that strange girl that could make him cringe with her words an not feel any remorse for it, but she had disappeared back at the ball. she disappeared when lily needed her the most. "it's not you really, it's me..." lily reassured. it sounded like they were breaking up before they even had the chance to date. not that they would ever. the chances of them dating were beginning to grow though, most to lily's chagrin. she didn't want to be another one of alex's girl, one that he would leave when he found something better. her friend had told her countless times that she was different, if she wasn't he would have given up by now. lily refused to believe it though. still, the idea of being at least friendly seemed okay. no matter how much lily wished it was possible for things to be different.
for a moment, lily thought about telling him that she was kidding or that it was not possible. hell, she even hoped that james or albus would come and check to see if she had made it back to the room all right. luck was never on her side, lily was beginning to believe that maybe it was fate. or she was just a really unlucky person. and then he smiled. why did he have to have such a wonderful smile lily thought. honestly, the boy could break hearts with that smile as lily very well knew and yet she let him stay with her. something really had come over lily. "i suppose to. it's much better than being in a dingy old room by yourself" lily replied. the old lily would have actually preferred her room over being with alex, but that lily had not had the most amazing time with him. god, she was really missing out on something. wait, what was she thinking? lily wasn't missing out on anything, it was alex. he was just... a boy. maybe her friend maybe something more? no, never that could never happen not even if alex changed completely. there would always be that egotistical side of him, right? "would you mind if i changed though? i kind of feel weird being dressed like this" lily said. maybe on the way to change she would come to her senses and not return.
then everything would go back to the way it was and lily would be as confused as she was now. could it really be that easy? she wasn't sure but she was about to find out.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OH MY JUST PLEASE TRY TO SHUT UP AND KISS ME BABY The Words: four four nine The Outfit: X The Notes SORRY, I HAD TO DO MISTLETOE. especially since in the RP it's somewhat close to the holidays and we've passed them here in RL HAHAH. poor lily Alex didn't know how much more of this adorableness he could take. Instead of twirling her hair, Lily began to bite her lip. Her lip. She was just asking Alex to ravish her or something, because god knows that he wants to. Alex took a deep breath, looking away from her lips and into her eyes, girls always liked when you looked at them when they talked, otherwise they thought that you were looking at their boobs, then again, some girls loved it when you looked at their chest. Really depends on the character. Alex laughed bitterly at Lily's 'it's not you, it's me.' "No need for you to break up with me already Lily, we haven't even begun to date," Alex joked. Though, it seemed as though Lily still wanted nothing to do with him. What a hard life. Alex tried distracting himself by looking around at the floor they were on. He didn't often visit the Seventh Floor or at least this side as the Ravenclaw common room was also in a tower opposite of Gryffindor's. Luckily Gryffindor's usually threw the best parties so he knew where the common room was, otherwise it would've been a problem making sure that Lily made it back okay.
If time could've stopped, Alex would've done a little victory dance. He was granted a few minutes in his loves room. Does it smell like her? ooo I bet it does, Alex mused, almost sighing dreamily out loud. Oh my god, shut up you prick, you sound like an eight year old girl. Alex chastised himself. Alex ran a hand through his hair, smiling at Lily. "Yeah! Feel free to change, I don't want you to be uncomfortable or anything cause I'm here. I was gonna take off the bow tie and stuff anyway, it's getting a little stuffy with this thing choking me all the time. I don't know how people wear them," Alex spoke as Lily brought him to the common room entrance, mumbling the password before going inside. Barely anybody was there except a few younger students who weren't allowed to attend the ball. "Who do you room with?" Alex wondered, nerves creeping up on him. He was almost in her room. Suddenly, his feet would move and he seemed to be caught up the stairs to the common rooms. Alex looked up and he thought his heart would explode. Luck was on his side. Now he really wanted to do a victory dance. Situated above Lily and Alex was mistletoe. One of the girls must've thought it was cute to put it up early and catch some students early, before they began to avoid the enchanted mistletoe.

[atrb=width,400] tales of love & hatred lily needed a moment to herself to pull herself together. she had never been this nervous in her life, not even when she was barely learning to ride her broom. it would have been less strange if she was getting nervous around a normal boy, but this was bloody alex ackerly! the boy really was good at getting girls to feel the way he wanted them to. that was the only reason that lily did not feel bad about being a bit mean to him or ignoring his feelings for her. she really wanted to believe that she was different from all the other girls but it was hard. she had known him for over five years, and while girls might have thought of him as dreamy, everyone knew that he enjoyed changing girls often. lily found it hard to look away when he looked her in the eye. he had the best blue eyes she had ever seen. lily hated to admit it, but she knew that a small part of her had fallen for the boy. or at the very least, she liked him. but only a little, it would probably pass when she spent the weekend away from him. lily desperately hoped that it would because she was afraid of how things would end if she actually fell for him. lily laughed, she knew that she made it sound like that, but she really couldn't take it back. "yeah, i know. i'm sorry..." she trailed off, embarrassed that she had made it sound like that. at least alex didn't sound like her minded, but he was a boy. they never admitted when something hurt them.
lily tried to shake off the incident, at least she would have a few seconds in her room to think things through. all she needed was a couple of seconds to go back to how things were before. back when she realized that alex was not as handsome, or didn't have the best blue eyes. god, she really needed to stop thinking of him like that, it really was making things worse for her."i wasn't planning on it" lily said with a smile. anyone who knew lily, knew that if she was uncomfortable with something, then she would do anything to feel comfortable. or she would try to anyways. "they sound horrible, my brothers always complain. glad i'm not a boy. though you guys are kind of lucky, it's hard to find a girl's dress that isn't extremely short or showy." lily said. they reached the fat lady's portrait, and lily whispered the password. luckily, the fat lady heard her though she had to speak up a couple of times. she honestly didn't know how people could keep the password a secret. there were a few younger years, lily remembered when she had been one of them, anxiously waiting to be of age to attend. "mandy, terrie, and angeline" lily said as took a couple of steps towards her room. and alex was right behind her. lily felt nervous, alex was actually following her to her room.. where they would be alone. luck really wasn't on her side. suddenly, alex looked up. lily followed his gaze and gasped when she saw mistletoe right above them.
"mistletoe" she muttered as she turned to look at him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OH MY JUST PLEASE TRY TO SHUT UP AND KISS ME BABY The Words: five seven nine The Outfit: X The Notes this is crappy :/ Alex despised how Lily seemed to rely on the rumors about him, mostly from girls that he had broken up with, rejected or somehow hurt their feelings without him knowing. Girls were so complicated. Every time Lily treated him poorly (basically every day of his life) he always told himself that he didn’t need her and he would go after someone else... and that would work for about an hour before he came crawling back. The first Tuesday of every month he would try to get over her, obviously things were not going so well. To Alex, these few days of moping had become routine, the lads knew not to mess with him for that Tuesday as he went into deep thinking, tried to make a list of things he hated about Lily (there was usually only one thing on the list: She makes me love her), and scout out possible girlfriends (every time his eyes only landed on Lily). Despite the fact that this never worked in all his years of trying, Alex kept to his routine, praying that he would get over this girl that clearly wanted nothing to do with him. Although he might brush off the rejection with a laugh, it hurt, but when he saw Lily laughing with her friends, he was reminded again why he loved her. The way her face lit up, her eyes sparkling, musical notes seemed to leak out of her mouth as she laughed. Yes, Alex was a sap.
Alex was suddenly faced with a problem: getting up the stairs. Not that he hadn’t gone up the girls staircase before, he just didn’t have his usual tools, like his broom. He wasn’t going to let Lily get away too quickly. He knew some of the Gryffindor Quidditch players so he could just “accio” their brooms and send the broom back with a note of thanks. Alex suddenly zoned back into the present as he laughed at Lily’s remark about girls dresses. ”You don’t need to tell me, my sister and mum have taken me shopping before. My dad almost had a heart attack when he saw the dresses that my sister had picked out, and they were the longer ones too. Said that he would let her out of the house in those things,” Alex joked, laughing a little at the memory. Shopping with his mum and sister was horrible. They always seemed to drag him along because he had “great style” and according to his sister he “knew what the guys wanted.” Alex shuddered at the thought of his sister doing anything more than politely talking to a male. He could barf right now just thinking about the possibility, he would murder any bastard that came within three feet of her. Alex nodded as Lily recited her roommates, he hadn’t talked much with any of them, he would have to get better acquainted with them.
Alex almost gasped with delight at the mistletoe. Not that he would show it on his face. His hand flew up to his hair, awkwardly smiling down at Lily, the height different now apparent. ”Shall we?” Alex let out nervously. He put his right hand to her cheek and slowly closed the gap between them. He could smell her breath from the abnormally close proximity. Alex looked down at her lips once before closing his eyes and closing the few centimeters that were left between them.

[atrb=width,400] tales of love & hatred lily wondered how alex was planning on getting on the stairs. she had heard that boys couldn't go to the girls dorm because the stairs ended up turning into a slide. the thought of alex sliding down was funny and it meant that lily would be able to revert back to her usual self, but she wasn't so sure she wanted that anymore. it felt nice to not worry about what mean thing she was going to say to him next. snap out of it, NOW! lily commanded herself. but she knew that she was past that, she would need a whole month to think of alex as anything other than charming. yes, the boy had won her over but he really shouldn't expect it to last. lily had just been dazed by the attention, at least she hoped that's what it was. she truly didn't want to believe that she actually had strong feelings for him. that would mean that she would be another victim in his game. lily let out a laugh. she knew what that was like. her mother avoided bringing her brothers and father as much as she could but there was only so much she could do. both potter women hated shopping as well and only did it when the family was already out anyways. even though they tried to shop as fast as they could, the selection was the difficult part.
"my brothers know how you feel. even with my height, most of the dresses are too revealing. i swear my dad would have preferred battling voldemort against than having to see his only girl in dresses like those" lily continued their joking banter. it was funny, she had never talked to anyone about her father dueling voldemort. she preferred that they not think of her as harry potter's daughter, even if it wasn't so bad. still, with a famous father it was hard to know who wanted to talk to you because of his fame. she didn't think alex was one to care though. yes, lily actually thought that alex was decent when it came to something. like always, she refused to let him know, things were going well and she didn't want his arrogant self back. "i hate dress shopping, my brothers are the only reason is bearable" lily admitted. those two boys were really something. no matter where they were, they always managed to make any place fun. lily made sure she wasn't far behind, anything her brothers did, she did. lily wondered why alex wanted to know about her dorm-mates but she didn't ask. he was probably just being curious, lily would have done the same thing.
not that she was thinking about going to his own dorm. even if she was a tiny bit curious what his dorm looked like. lily couldn't believe that she had just admitted that to herself. she shouldn't even be thinking of alex's room, this was a one time thing. just so that they wouldn't be bored or alone. which reminded lily, they were going to be alone, in her room, where no one could hear them. yeah, she had just landed herself in a sticky situation. but she was currently in an even worse situation now that they were under the mistletoe, together. lily gulped, she had yet to have her first kiss but she had thought about what she wanted it to be like. for sure, with someone who was her boyfriend and someone she really liked. alex was, well she wasn't sure what exactly alex was to her. she bit her lip once more, if she had been nervous before she was worse now. she couldn't even answer him because she didn't even know what she wanted. a part of her wanted to kiss him, while the other just kept reminding her that alex was a jerk. lily thought about moving but she couldn't, it felt like her feet were rooted to the ground. his hand felt warm against her cheek.
lily really didn't know what to do. was she supposed to do what he did? or just stand there? alex seemed to be the one taking control, and lily just let him for some reason. it only took a few moments before his lips were one hers. this kiss was nothing like she imagined, it was actually better. alex's lips felt warm pressed up against hers, they felt... right. lily let herself get into the kiss before she realized who it was she was kissing.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] OH MY JUST PLEASE TRY TO SHUT UP AND KISS ME BABY The Words: seven fourteen The Outfit: X The Notes so late and sub par :( Alex chuckled at the brother comment. He could imagine James freaking out if the dress wasn't anything below her ankles. Alex was surprised that James didn't cause a real fuss about her halloween outfit, not that it was super scandalous, it just wasn't a shapeless gown like James would've preferred. Maybe James hadn't look at the outfit? Or maybe for once turned a blind eye. It was a halloween ball anyway. "It's really that bad? For the record, I don't think any of your dresses are scandalous," Alex laughed as Lily said her father would rather fight Voldemort. He often forgot that when her name was Lily Potter she was Lily Potter. Harry Potter's daughter. The Harry Potter. The Boy Who Lived. Killed Voldemort. It's all very surreal, his story sounds like an awesome adventure tale, often told like that to the young, but then you see him at platform 9 and 3/4 and all the girls have a freak out session and all the guys are in awe like 'that is one cool dude.' It's easy to forget when you're around the Potters, even if there's the ever so subtle mention of it from a professor it usually takes Alex awhile to make the connection again: that the Potters are the Potters. He's in love with Harry Potters daughter, the man would probably kill him with his bare hands if he knew how much his daughter hated him. Alex shivered internally, if he ever got the chance to have a family dinner with him, he probably wouldn't make it out alive. But Lily was worth it...
"What do they do to make it so bearable? I usually just sit and mope the whole time in the husband chairs," SCORE. If they got married he wouldn't have to go watch her pick out clothes. Another pro of Lily Potter to add to the extensive list. Alex could admit that he was purposely annoying and insufferable at those shopping trips because a) he had never wanted to go and b) it was so effing boring. He had to sit there for hours on a perfectly nice day and watch his sister come out in ridiculous outfits. She ALWAYS took forever. Especially when it was near her birthday because then everything she bought was considered a present, so she could get more without it being such a big deal. Boy oh boy, his sister was a schemer. A pretty smart one at that, always wondered why she wasn't a Ravenclaw like Alex and his brother. She was the lone lion in the family. Though that often helped Alex get invited to the Gryffindor parties, or at least to hear about them, then he'd make an excuse to see his sister and happen upon the party 'by chance.' Or just go with his brother. Two fool proof plans that often worked. He should write a book about ways to use your older siblings. It would be fabulous, a real hit.
Alex gulped, this was the real deciding moment: the kiss. He couldn't screw this up because he had been planning it for so damn long. And he wanted this to be an enjoyable experience for both parties. Alex noticed how Lily seemed to stiffen as the mistletoe was recognized, and how this could very well be abuse if she didn't want it to happen. But, despite everything, they were going to have to kiss to get out of the compromising position that they were in. Alex took a deep breath and went for, seeing as Lily didn't seem to be familiar with what was going on, or just shocked to do anything. Alex smiled into the kiss as he felt Lily's lips against his. Lily Potter was kissing him, Alex Ackerly. He deepened the kiss, thanking whatever god had helped the common room stay empty. He stepped a little closer as the mistletoe blew up, the ash becoming sparkles that fell around them as the magical device realized that its duty was over. For some remarkable reason, Lily didn't stop kissing him or pull away and punch him in the face. Alex's mind was mush, his knees weak and his breath started to hitch. Reluctantly he pulled away, "Wow. Alex always did have a way with words.
