I couldn't help but grin cynically when I heard that question. I've been here for almost seven years, yet a lot of people still don't recognize me. No surprise, I'm not an interesting kid, just another blond blue-eyed kid who has his nose stuck in his books. A typical Ravenclaw. I frowned at the thought. Just because I wasn't a Quidditch player or anything doesn't mean I should be ignored and stuff. Sure I wasn't as buff as them, but I wasn't skinny either (as if you won't gain a few muscles while carrying tons of books a day). I wasn't tall either and I was kinda pale because I don't spend too much hours under the sun. Nope, it's nighttime and libraries for me, preferrably together. It's the best time and place to study (more like plan, but you didn't hear that from me).
Not that I mind being just another kid, makes life easier in a way. People who are too different get too much attention, which may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're known for. If you're known for your Quidditch skills, then it's a good thing. But if you're known to be a know-it-all, then it's not so good. That's why I prefer keeping quiet and answering only when I'm called, not even raising my hand with enthusiasm (or at all) unlike other people (nerds). That's probably why no one knows me, and I guess that's all right. I'd rather be a no one than the older brother of an autistic sister.
Not that I don't love my sister, I really do. But kids in Hogwarts can be mean to those they don't understand. My sister's just a bit different, probably because of her premature birth. She was born three weeks before everyone expected her, when I was three years old. I barely remember it, it was a cold stormy night and everyone was panicking. Then my little sister appeared, like magic. I know better now, of course, but I was three back then. The most memorable part of that night was when my parents made me promise to take care of my little sister no matter what. And I haven't broken a single promise in my life, especially that one. Though it was thanks to that promise that life was a bit hard for me. Not that it was her fault, it's just, the other kids like picking on her when they find out about her secret and I can't just let them pick on her. So I had to teach them a lesson for picking on her. Of course, I'm just a wimpy kid who can't fight back against bullies, physically that is. But mentally, that's where I excel.
I was put into Ravenclaw for a reason. Ever since, I've always used my head to fight. I might not be strong physically (though I'm sorta trying to work on it), but my memory is amazing. And so is my ability to observe. I can take note of the little details in life and use them in my plans later on. It makes studying easy since I only have to read about a topic once then it would stick in my head forever. Photographic memory, pretty awesome though it has it's bad times like everything else. I can never forget anything, both the good and bad experiences like the first time I found out I was a wizard (I accidentally turned my mom's hair pink, but Hestia Lange-Urquhart was a kind and understanding woman) or when my sister, Gweniever, had tantrums because of her condition. I can't forget when my dad, Abraham, was in near tears, which was really weird since he never cried before, when he had to send me off to Hogwarts in both pride and sadness. I also can't forget those who pick on my sister and my revenge on them.
You see, despite being the quiet Ravenclaw that most people ignore or forget (because honestly, my looks aren't anything special) I play pranks at night. What? It's the best way to practice spells and see how they apply in real life. And better yet, pranks are the best reasons to create spells. I want to be a spell-creator or maybe work in the DoM research section, one day (hopefully soon). Of course I never get caught, I'm not that stupid to leave evidence behind. And no one would ever think that a certain boring seventh year Ravenclaw would actually dare prank others. But I guess, that's why I'm in Ravenclaw and they're not.

James Potter was a good friend. He was loyal, charming, witty, etc., simply put, he's the best kind of company any person would ask for, maybe except for those slimy snakes that belong in the dungeon and away from decent people like him and his friends. Anyway, the point is, he's a good friend and when he noticed that one of his best mates just got up, got a book, and got away, he managed to convince Pete and Sirius not to follow him to wherever he disappeared to. It's not as if they can't find him on the map anyway, and he seemed to be a little distracted, so they should just let him be. It was nearly his time of the month anyway and he seems to get these weird mood swings and cravings. Even though Remus gets pms or pre-monthly (or moony) syndrome as they call it because honestly how else can you describe it, Moony is a guy and more importantly, he's one of Prongs's best friends.
And so, after leaving him for a few minutes to get away from it all like he always does, James took out the map from Peter's trunk (don't ask how it got there), said the magic words, and easily found Remus bumming by the lake. It just doesn't sit right with him to just leave his friends when they're obviously troubled, especially when it comes to his best friends. So after a few moments of leaving him alone and convincing the rest of the Marauders not to barge in on his "alone time", he would lead them on a crusade to cheer up their distressed friend because that's what friends do, and he can't stay put longer than a few moments when he's worried. And he worries easily when it comes to the important people around him. In fact, James is in a constant state of worry, with his mother in St. Mungo's and she doesn't seem to be getting better. But right now, he's more worried about Remy since he could help out the werewolf. Hopefully. If not, then at least he could say he tried. But the pattern usually works, since it's a tried and tested method in handling Moony through the years.
As soon as he arrived at the lake, he easily saw Remus sitting near the lake and half of him wanted to push the werewolf into the lake. But since Remy's pms-ing, he does not want one really pissed off Remus so he decided against it. Instead, he sat down beside him, waiting if he'll notice James's presence. Nope, it seemed that he was too engrossed in his book to notice that one of his best friend is right beside him, just staring at him. And besides, James's eyes were starting to water for staring too long without blinking. He nearly took Remus' book just to get his attention, the key word being "nearly" since he remembered that the nearer the full moon, the pissier Remus gets when his books get taken away from him. And the pissier Remus gets, the stronger he is. James should know, so do the rest of the Marauders, after getting him angry a few times throughout their whole stay in Hogwarts. So he might as well make his presence known. "Heya Remy! What ya reading?"
