Ah, it was that time of year again and Isabella Davies was certainly looking forward to the Halloween ball. Since it was a fancy dress occasion she decided that it would be good if she could dress in a unique costume but to her disappointment all she could come up with was sexual costume and that was certainly no way to dress in front of first years. In the end she decided to go as cat women but her outfit was still a little seductive which she couldn’t help, hopefully she wouldn’t get told off for the inappropriate costume she had chosen but she did think she looked classy in it, despite what others thought.
Isabella curled her long brown hair and slipped on her cat ears before she put on her black high heels and admired herself in the mirror in the common room. She liked to think she looked attractive but she was sure there were better looking girls that were going tonight, and she knew Brielle would look amazing in whatever she was going to wear tonight. She’d never be as beautiful as Brielle, all her friends were gorgeous and sometimes Isabella felt she didn’t live up to how beautiful they were.
Everyone was going to have dates and thankfully Isabella was also one of those people, she was going to the Halloween ball with her partner: Dylan Entwhistle. She really couldn’t wait to him again, last time she had seen him was prefect duty and that was a while ago now! She looked over herself once more and left thee tower and made her way down to the great hall.
There were a few people in the hall that already had their drinks in hand and were dancing in the centre of the hall. She did a quite look around to see anyone she knew and there was no one around. She sighed and walked over to the punch ball and got herself a glass of punch.

Tyson entered the hall and was immediately hit with the colour of the place. The sky was dark and gloomy, naturally, with jako-lanterns replacing the floating candles in the sky. Bolts of lightning only helped to enhance the immersion as a flock of bats flew from rafter to rafter in the ceiling. The decorations dotted around the walls were also a marvel to behold with drapes displaying moving pictures of skeletons, ghosts and all manor of creatures. This was all without observing the mad variety of costumes on display, many students had pulled out all the stops to recreate authentic costumes whilst others were less enthusiastic, such as himself to a certain degree, and had donned more sensible attire if only to get into the party for a good time.
No matter, with food, drink and questionably good music provided by the school, what was not to like, especially with the girls putting on a show, in many cases leaving little to the imagination of Hogwart's male population. He approached the drinks table and grabbed a butterbeer. He couldn't exactly raise an eyebrow as per why no alcohol was being served, the reason was obvious, so he made do with what they had. He rested his back against the table to keep an eye out for the quidditch team, or others he knew. A girl getting a drink caught his eye. He knew she was in his year because he recognised her from class but her name escaped him. He simply smiled at her and raised his glass slightly as a sign of greeting before taking a sip, which could easily be ignored if the kitten had someone else to play with already. Tyson admitted, her outfit was rather sexy and she had looks that could kill but he already had a date set up for the occasion.

Serena pushed some of the lose hair off her face and tucked it under the pointed hat she'd donned. She'd been looking forward to the Halloween ball for weeks, not because her costume was something flashy but a comical variation of most people in the room. She'd gone as something stereotypical every year, always making fun of the popular costumes. Either it was cupid, of fairy princess or a witch. Now she couldn't go as a witch since it was what she was, but she decided to doll it up with everything she's read about witches in Muggle storybooks. So here she stood at the doors, in her flowing cloaks and dress, a cauldron of white powder, a "wand" which was nothing but a stick with a star and the gothic make up. She grinned and walked in, flipping her hair.
She'd come solo, not because she couldn't find a date, but she'd not wanted to find one. Going by yourself didn't oblige her to not flirt with other guys or stick to one person and she was more than happy to come and have a nice time. Deciding to make her way over to the refreshment table, she walked up to the punch bowl and poured herself a glass of fruit punch. Taking a sip, she smiled at the two seventh years. Serena had always been a friendly, bright personality and the fact that they were well above three years older didn't stop her from smiling and introducing herself.
"Hi there, I'm Serena and don't you two look amazing?" she said, shrugging her shoulders in excitement.

The older Ravenclaw male was getting ready for the Halloween Ball that Hogwarts put on each Halloween. He didn't understand the point of dressing up when you were a witch or wizard. He was one to shy away from that type of stuff, unless you're talking masquerade because Dylan would love a masquerade ball. He had been working on his costume for a few days now, it was the best idea he could come up with and it was funny in his opinion. He had sent his mother a letter when he found he was going to the ball and asked them to get the stuff that you make a cast with and a bit of hardware. Sometimes knowing muggle things had been easy. He was pleased to have it arrive only a few days before the ball. He had worked with his arms and the help from a friend to make a full cast of his right arm and had his parents send a neck brace. He hadn't seen much of Isabella the last few days so it made the costume that much better. He was sure she was going to flip until she saw the hinges that he had screwed very carefully into the cast. He very carefully worked the cast onto him and was careful not to pinch his skin. The hinges were in the back and to make sure the front would hold he had an extra piece of cast to put on last minute which he was working on that moment. After his arm cast was one he wondered why he hadn't done the neck brace first because it had proved difficult to get it to snap correctly. To top it all off he put on his pajamas that made him look like he just walked from the hospital wing to attend the ball. He even put on sippers to help out and made his hair untidy. He had also had a bit of makeup to help with a bit of bruising which he started on around his hand, right side of his face and right shoulder. He was sure this was the best costume he could come up with. He was an injured person. Once everything was in order he made his way down towards the Great Hall and looked around for Isabella. Once he found her by the punch bowl he made his way over to her. He smiled and moved behind her before she could see him and wrapped his arms around her, or the best he could with his right arm but he made sure to use both arms. ”Hey,” he told her and kissed her cheek. He saw Tyson, and a younger Gryffindor, one of the Greybacks if he recalled correctly who he heard just barely speak about her name being Serena. He gave them both nods. The Halloween ball was a yearly event that happened every year and nearly everyone would attend, including Isabella. She’d always go to the ball whether she had a date or not. This year she was lucky enough to have Dylan to go with, but she had no idea who Brielle was going with this year. They had bumped into each other and when she told her friend how excited she was to go to the ball with Dylan she did feel slightly bad because Brielle didn’t have anyone to go with, but she could have a last minute date. Isabella had been stood by the punch ball when she was approached by a younger Gryffindor, probably in her fifth or fourth year. Gently she smiled back at Tyson who had lifted his glass in greeting and she turned her attention back to the younger Gryffindor with a small smile still planted on her delicate facial features, “Well, you look very nice yourself,” She commented and decided to introduce herself to the younger girl, “I’m Isabella, but you may call me Bella if you wish.”
All of a sudden she felt someone wrap their arms around her waist and he jumped slightly but felt the familiar lip on her cheek and felt a warmth travel through her body. “Hey Dyl,” She twirled herself around in his arms and laughed at his choice of outfit. It was so like him to choose an outfit like that, it reflected his personality and that was what she loved about him, the fact he could always make her laugh no matter what and the fact he was wearing a pair of pyjamas and castes made her giggle slightly. “Nice choice of outfit.”
