Cathy Zabini felt unusually cheery and completely out of character to her regular personality and her costume as she pinned the last of the bangs, falling on her face, to the side and walking out of her common room. She got a few stares and she didn't really care as she smirked and gave a mock courtesy. She'd gone for a raunchier costume this year compared to last year's angel mini dress. Instead, she'd chosen to be the opposite, a devilish little fairy and her dark corset with the tulle skirt came barely mid thigh, not to mention the sexy fishnet stockings she'd put on along with it. She shrugged and made her way to the hall where the actual party would be taking place.
There was a sense of festivity and mock fear as people looked around at the carved pumpkins, fake bats and gloomy sky-like ceiling. She ignored the childish decorations and made her way across the room, not stopping to talk to anybody along the way as she reached the huge glass windows which were letting moonlight stream in. Standing beside them, she carefully watched the groups of costumed bodies move around and she sighed to herself as she wondered who on earth she should talk to.
She hadn't decided on a time to meet her date but now she regretted it a little since she was already slightly bored and she'd only been here for all of ten minutes. She played with the fake wand in her hand, her real one tucked in under her wings, as she let her heels click to the rhythm of the music.

Silas Dee Silas wasn’t all for Halloween and this year he definitely wasn’t in the spirit like his other classmates were. When he was younger he never craved candy like the other kids did and was really not bothered in dressing up as a demon or a sheet with a scary mask over the top of it. If he was honest with himself he only came out into the hall to see what the other students had ridiculously dressed up as.
Silas sported a simple black and white checker shirt and jeans. He undeniably stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of the students and would probably be the target of snarky little comments from the Gryffindors by the end of the night. Trying to avoid this he stood in the corner of the room with his back against the wall, just staring around the crowds. Most of the costumes he recognised to have been worn last year, but he did see a few unique, original costumes.
He appreciated the efforts made by the tarty looking Ravenclaw third years who were all bunched in a group with their leather mini-skirts just covering their private places and black knitted, knee-high socks hugging their legs. “People like that make me want to roam the countryside killing hookers with a wooden spoon…” He muttered to himself, chuckling under his breath.
Only one person out of the crowd caught his eye was a girl who stood below the large glass windows. He couldn’t help but notice the way the moonlight made her eyes shimmer or the way her costume hugged her curves. He had seen her once or twice before, knew that she was also in Slytherin and believed she was in the year above him. Way out of his league, he knew, but he couldn’t help the urge of wanting to talk to her.
He shuffled over in the direction of her, trying not to make it too obvious that he was moving over to her in case she thought he was stalking her or something. He stopped about a meter beside her, swaying backwards and forwards on the balls of his feet. “Well…” He cleared his voice before carrying on. “I uhm… I guess you can kiss heaven goodbye because it has got to be a sin to look that good…” He felt like smacking himself in the face as he finished his sentence. A cheesy pick-up line? Sure, that’s going to charm a girl. Stupid, stupid, stupid. He screamed in his head.
