Dominique sat on the floor for a few seconds, listening carefully to his words and pulling herself back together. She closed her eyes, wiped the last of the tears and took a few deep breaths. Back when Dom had first been dumped and Darla had finally managed to get her feelings out of her, Dom had been overwhelmed with the pain. She'd had a few weeks of panic attacks and her parents had even sent her to a therapist, who'd taught her relaxation techniques. Employing them, she let her heart rate lower to normal before she stood up.
The quaint hallway was a mess, tension in the air, words spewing, wet floor, scorched wall and two messed up, brokenhearted peopled. She shrugged at the seriousness in his voice, a little helplessly. "Because it's what they told me. Every day of every week when I tried to come and talk to you, they all told me the same thing. That it was over, that I was a fool for believing and that you never loved me. That you would never love anybody of my apparently low standards. I'm a blood traitor, remember?" she whispered.
"You're right," she said, bending down to pick up her books. All hopes of reaching her Potions class on time were gone but she could try for the next one. If she was in the shape to, without Roxy noticing that something was off. "It shouldn't matter, especially when we've both moved on. But I need to know the truth either way." She moved closer to him, but kept a safe enough distance. "I can never fully move on until I get that closure."
She walked past him, back in the direction she'd first been coming from and stopped for a few seconds. She turned back, to look. "I know what I did, and it wasn't what you think it was. But what we had was beautiful and I will always cherish it. Thank you. Maybe someday you'll know the real truth." She turned back and around and whispered to herself, with one last sniffle. "Goodbye, Stefan."
And with that, she walked off.
ooc- End it soon?
