lily pulled her long, red hair into a ponytail, before grabbing the various ingredients needed. she was currently in her potions class, trying to make a sleeping draught. the teacher had claimed that it was easy, but lily was finding it quite difficult. although lily excelled in most classes, it didn't mean that she didn't have to try that hard, on the contrary, she tried harder that most people to pass. to lily, getting a good grade was just not good enough, she had to get the best grade to make her parents proud. james was the funny one, and albus was the one that was most like their father. but what did that leave lily with? she was truly unsure, which is why she tried to hard to be the smart one. it proved to be a difficult tasks, but lily didn't dare to complain. which is why she continued to grab the various ingredients she had set up the second she walked into class. lily didn't pay attention to much more than her potion, only taking small glances up to look the the board. a little over an hour later, their teacher told them to stop what they were doing, and fill a small flask with their potions. lily grabbed the flasks closets to her, and filled it up rather quickly. she then returned to her desk, grabbed all her stuff and left, but not before waving good-bye to a few of her friends.
lily was the first one out of the classroom, not because she didn't like being in there, but because she needed some time on her own. this whole day had been quite hectic, she had almost no time to relax anymore. actually, this whole week had been hectic. she knew her furth year would get harder, but not this hard. she knew she had to grin and bare it, but it was hard. which is why she was taking this time to go some place where she could be alone, for at least a second. luckily she had no more classes for the day. lily walked out of the dungeons, smiling at a few of her friends. some wanted to go with her for some reason, apparently curious as to where she would be going, but lily just waved them away, telling them that she was going to lie down for a bit. she was truly a terrible liar, but they seemed to believe her, after all they chose to head down to their classes. of course, the fact that they had class might have had something to do with it. lily didn't look much into it, and continue walking, unsure of where exactly she was going to go. better take the shortcut
lily thought, when yet another person asked where she was going. at least no one would be able to see her, not many people knew about the various secret passages. so lily took the passage which went up to her common room, hoping that no one would be in there. sadly, not all wishes come true, and she was met with a barely audible noise before she could even get out of the dungeon. Dominique didn't bother much about the cold stone wall against her legs as she sat curled up against an alcove in one of the numerous secret passageways which went around the school to Gryffindor Tower. Of course, many hadn't know about them but having George Weasley as an uncle had to have its perks and she always used this particular between her favorite room in the world and her favorite classroom, Potions.
It had been a decent half of the day, managing to finish more work than she'd thought she could and leaving some time for her to revise. She didn't want to be like the other kids who gave up and slacked before hand and then stressed from March to May for the OWLs. No, instead she merely revised the day's lessons so that she'd recollect later and then find it easier. Not that anybody knew this since she had a party girl image to uphold, and she did, without letting it damage her competitive status in her grades. I mean she was an ex-Triwizard Champion's daughter and the niece of the saviors of the Wizarding World.
When the scratch of her quill against her book wasn't the only noise she could here, she quickly put it inside, replacing it with a novel. She'd rather be found with a novel than a Potions book anyway. She had an innocent smile on her face which immediately dropped into a mischievous grin as she saw her cousin walk down the corridor.
"Oh, hi there, Lils," she waved, patting the cold stone beside her and scooting over for her to come and sit. It had been a long time since she'd hung out with her and she missed attempting to boss some sense into the fun-loving yet naive girl.
"Did you just come out of Potions, because I swear I can smell Salamander Blood on you," she said, wrinkling her nose and fishing in her bag for some perfume. Normally she didn't go around spritzing everything she found but Salamander blood made her head spin with disgusting thoughts and she quickly sprayed some before Lily could protest. "Awesome. So what's on the agenda, because I am planning on catching some big fish on this weekend's Hogsmeade trip and I have no clue what to wear so I need your opinion, please," she said, half slumping against her.

the secret passageways were known to few, and lily was glad that she was part of that small percentage. her brother, james, had actually found these passages before them, having used the old marauders map that belonged to their father to locate them. at first, he wasn't going to share this with them, instead choosing to keep it a secret, but she had accidentally found him reading it. lily was going to keep it a secret as well, until she decided something this big couldn't be kept from albus. honestly, lily would have never been able to survive without them. they were great when she wanted to get somewhere faster, or if she just wanted to take a route that would not be as crowded. still it was somewhat difficult to use them, the fear that lily felt everything she used them made it almost impossible for her. she didn't want more people finding about this place, because then they would be just as crowded as the corridors.
anyways, she was shocked that other people had found this passage as well. many didn't venture out on their own, unless they were like her brother who was much too curious for his own good. but when she realized who it was, she was less surprised. it was her cousin, dom. obviously, lily's uncle would know about these passages. the countless stories that her father would tell her always had her uncle and his twin involved in them. most importantly, they were involved in how her father got the map. she walked over to her cousin and sat down next to her, wincing as the cool wall touched her uncovered skin. "what are you doing here"
lily asked, feeling a bit foolish after she saw her cousin's quill. she nodded sheepishly, realizing that maybe she shouldn't have rushed through her potions class. she was about to apologize when dominique sprayed her with . she coughed rather loudly for a minute before she could finally breath again. "do you want to suffocate me...do you really hate me that much" lily joked, giving her cousin her puppy dog eyes. "you're kidding right,? you could wear rags and you still look pretty. i'm pretty sure it's a weasely thing" she continued. yes, when she was with her family, lily enjoyed joking more than usual. but how could she not? her family was full of pranksters and jokesters. and how could she not look about dom's looks. thanks to her mother's side of the family, she really could wear trash and look beautiful. if only lily had the same gift. "but really, of course i would help, maybe we can convince roxie to let us check out her wardrobe too" lily suggested. [/blockquote][/blockquote] template by wreckoftheday ! of caution. Dom smiled to herself as she tucked her journal under her arm and put the quill back in her bag. She'd had a habit of keeping a journal ever since she was was twelve years old and even if her personality, name, looks had gone through a complete make over since then, she never changed that habit. Her journal was the one place she could be who she really was, a mix of the old Dominique and the new Dom. And she hated it when somebody walked in on her writing, but given the fact that it was only Lily, she didn't mind. She loved her cousin, who was almost like a more fun reflection of what she used to be. "Just taking a break from the disease called student-hood," she nodded.
"Oh, please," she hushed, waving her arm. "This happens to be one of the nicest, most tolerable perfumes around," she said. It was a floral smell with a slightly spicy hint, which she loved and always had some with her. She snorted and pointed at her hair which was currently in a knot at the back of her head. "Right. I wish it entitled no bad hair days. And you seem to be forgetting that you're half Weaselette, too," she grinned. Lily may not have realized it but she was quite beautiful herself and Dom was always jealous of people who had that natural beauty to them. She was pretty because of her Veela genes, and only that. "Oh well, at least I don't turn into an ugly bird when I'm angry," she muttered.
"Yes! Roxie has such good clothes and I don't think I can write to mum and ask her to send some of the new shipment," she said, referring to her family business. She loved the fact that she had such easy access to good, stylish clothes because of the family boutique her mum ran in Diagon Alley. Plus, going there always meant some goodies from her Uncle George's store and new books from Flourish and Blott's.

lily watched as dominique hid her journal from the younger gryffindor. this wasn't the first time she had caught her writing in it, just like it wasn't the first time that she was burning with curiosity. but she would never ask her cousin about it. lily considered that journal to be dominique's little secret. it was better than lily's huge one. lily nodded, knowing very well what dom was talking about. lily was constantly stressing out over practically everything she did. she would re-do dozens of essays because they were never good enough, and she was sure that her hair would start falling out any moment. oh how she missed being a first year and having less responsibility. it seemed the older she got, the more paranoid she got about her work. "same here, this has been my first break in three weeks" lily confessed.
even though the scent of the perfume was one that lily would have enjoyed if it hadn't been sprayed in her face, that had not been the case. she could still taste it on her tongue. she pulled a water bottle out of her bag and took a long drink, hoping the taste would go away. "it's lovely, but it was sprayed right in my face. i swear, i swallowed most of it" lily said. she giggled as she looked at her cousin's messy hair. she was jealous of her beauty. lily's hair was always unbearably messy yet it never looked like dominique's. she pointed at her own hair which was down and pointing in every direction. curse her father for passing on the worse gene in the world. "true, but my mother doesn't have the best genes in the world, though i do admit they're not to shabby" lily noted. even if it was always messy, her hair was still a good trait considering it was rare.
lily laughed loudly at dominique's next comment. she had been lucky enough never to have gotten on her cousin's bad side, but her cousin had told her all about the curse that came with their fortunate gift. but to lily it was a small price to pay to be beautiful. "i know! if only i was her size" lily sighed. they were all thin, but they were tall, unlike the youngest potter girl. "even if you can't, the clothes you have aren't that horrible" she added. aside from being blessed with looks, dom's mother also had a boutique that sold clothes fit for models.
