Roxanne stared outside the window of the Gryffindor Girl's Dormitory. She was sitting on the sill and leaned her head against the windowpane as she stared outside at the setting sun. Dinner time would be approaching soon but she doubted anyone would notice she wasn't there. They all would be too concerned with themselves. Being the selfish human beings there were. Normally Rox wasn't like this. She wasn't one for self-pity. She actually was never one for self pity. But what made this situation arise within her? One word, loneliness.
Let's face it, nearly everyone had a boyfriend and she was pretty sure everyone else had a date to that Halloween Dance. But she was being brought down by the fact that once again she would be going alone as usual. She would be stuck talking with a huge group of friends who always ended up finding a date. She would have to share some of her friend's dates. She just wished that there was some guy who saw her more than a friend. To see that she was more than just "one of the guys". That she was a girl wanting to be cared for and loved.
Of course she was somewhat at blame. There was a reason why guys maybe didn't even bother asking her. perhaps it was how flirty she was and how she tried to not seem interested in dating. That was because of her first heartbreak and the fear of more. Sure it made her a wimp, but it was just how she was. but she kind of wished there would be some guy who would put an effort into helping bring out the hopeless romantic within.
Roxie snapped out of her thoughts as she heard someone walk up the stairs but she still didn't move. She just adjusted her position for something more comfortable and stared straight ahead.

Dom took a deep breath, calming herself before she stood outside the door of the girl's dormitories. She'd had a scarily long week, with running into Stefan and finding out about rumors and the Nick and Darla drama. And she knew for a fact that her other best friend must be on the other side of the door and she'd realize in an instant that something was wrong. If she was going to talk about it, she might as well act as if it wasn't affecting her much.
She threw open the door, her eyes wandering around the room as she dumped her things on her bed. She traded her cloak for a jumper and shoes for bedroom slippers, before curling up on the window sill beside Roxanne. She smiled at her friend. Dom and Roxy had been very close, ever since they first met, which was when they were babies. She loved spending time at her Uncle George's shop and she almost always ended up hanging out with Rox and when they were sorted in the same house, they became closer than ever. Between her and Darla, Dom had the best friends she could ever ask for.
"Longest, baddest week ever. Stupid ex boyfriend picking my stupid brain," she sighed, letting her head rest on her knees which were curled up. The cold chill in the air, blowing through the window was refreshing and she looked out to the bright sky, overlooking the grounds. It was the best part of having a dormitory in a tower, the view and the breeze. "What about you. We haven't talked in forever. I'm sure your life is way better than mine," she sulked.

Roxie heard someone dump things on their bed. She whipped her head around immediately and even jumped a bit, not like she would ever admit the fact that she was momentarily scared, and caught glance of a familiar blonde. She smiled and sighed in relief to notice it was Dom. They were family and best friends. And no, it wasn't pathetic when one of your best friends were in your family. Considering how big the Weasley family is, half the school is Roxie's family in some way. But she could already tell that something had Dominique down in the dumps. And Roxanne would be willing to listen, it may get her mind off her own problems as well.
Roxie watched her friend sit and start about her ex-boyfriend. Roxanne didn't like the guy, she didn't like any guy that broke one of her friend's hearts. "What happened?" she asked concern in her voice as she stared at the blonde girl. "Something that I have to yell at him about." she asked with a small hint of a smile. No one ever wanted to see the darker weasley angry. It was scarier than hell. or so she had been told by a few of her friends. Most people she had freaked on avoid her now in fear. Maybe because they contained threats and sometimes she would actually prank them after...
She shook her head. "From how you seem to be feeling I doubt mine is worse than yours but I am still doing pretty crummy." she said as she copied Dom's position and rested her chin on her knees as well. "Mine also involve men." she added in simply. She always thought of herself like Artemis. Swearing off men forever. Being more like one of the guys rather than one of the girls. But at times she just wanted to be loved. Hold some guy's hand down the hall, have someone to dance with at school events, maybe someone to kiss. Someone to say the words 'I Love You'. That was what she wanted. But it hurt too much to ever have.

Dom couldn't help but snort as she saw Rox jump in shock, but she kept going as if she hadn't noticed. Although it was funny, she knew Roxie hated letting anybody see her like that, even if it was momentary, and she wouldn't admit it in a century. Dom loved how different both the girls were and yet they got along as well as anybody could. At first glance, you wouldn't think they were best friends but being around them proved a completely different story.
"Urgh..' she groaned, rubbing her temples. "I ran into him in the dungeons today, after, I don't know..a year? I haven't talked to him since it happened" she sighed, referring to the very brutal, very public break they'd had. "And we started bickering and shouting and then he randomly says that the reason he broke up with me is because I was naive enough to cheat on him. And I asked him who told him and he said the whole of Slytherin was talking. So, I pointed out which house he was talking off and how his friends must've started the rumor but he refused to believe me," she said, loudly and annoyed, but her voice was shaking underneath. It hurt, like hell, and as much as she had moved on, she wouldn't be over it, until she got the right closure. She thought of mentioning her kind of deal with Marcus, but decided not to. It wouldn't help her and Roxie would not agree.
She sighed, taking her friend's hand. Roxie may not show it but Dom wasn't blind to the look she sometimes got on her face when she saw couples in the halls or in Hogsmeade on weekends. And she sighed, thinking of the upcoming ball and she turned to her. "Be my date for the ball?" she asked, grinning and smiling at the prospect.

Roxie gave her friend a sympathetic look as she talked about seeing him again. Rox was there when the break-up happened, well a lot of people were there actually. She remembered how angry she felt at Dom's boyfriend, she wanted to punch the sorry git and make him pay. She still wanted to seek some sort of revenge but never found the right moment. But when Dom kept telling the story and said why he broke up with her Roxie widened her eyes. Now that shocked her and she wasn't going to hide it. She couldn't believe that whole thing was over a dumb rumor.
"What an ass!" she exclaimed. "Sorry, actually I am not sorry but, ugh! I need to slap sense into that boy! Is he like stupid or something? Did his parents drop him as a baby? You know what Dom, you are better off without him. You can do much better and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!" Roxie encouraged her friend still feeling the anger inside her. She was always very protective over her friends and family. She would do anything to protect them, and if someone messed with them, they messed with all the Weasleys!
Roxie felt Dom take her hand and ask her that question. She gave a chuckle and shook her head amused. "Darling, I would love to but I don't think our school approves of lesbians and incest in one." she said teasingly with a giggle as she shook her head. "I was actually not even planning on going but if you don't have a date and I don't then I can go as a friend so we are at least dateless losers together." she said with a small hint of a smile not meaning to sound rude, she was only joking.

Dom shrugged as if it was no big deal but she could see Rox's eyes on hers. The day after the actual breakup had happened, Dom was in denial for weeks. She'd catch herself walking to the Slytherin Dungeons to see Stefan or smiling in his direction and then realizing how off it was. It was one night, much later that Darla had confronted her and the two girls had stayed on the Astronomy Tower and cried. When dawn had broken and Darla had to return to Ravenclaw Tower, Dom had sought the company of Roxie in the common room and cried to her. And Roxie had been the one who she'd first told about going to therapy for panic attacks and nightmares, since she'd gone to visit them the day after. So, Roxie was basically more than just her friend, she'd seen her through thick and thin.
"I know. That's the pathetic part. I know I'm better off without him and I have moved on, I promise but it's just that I never got that sense of closure, you know? I'll never be over it until I find out what happened and you know how I get when I want something," she said. Dom had always been a selfish, competitive child and she could be quite manipulative when she wanted something badly, such as this.
Dom rolled her eyes and Rox and smacked her lightly on the arm. "Like you didn't know that's what I meant. You know I don't swing that way," she said and then stood up, pulling her hair into a messy bun. "Now help me, because I will not go to a Halloween ball without a costume. What do you think?" she asked, twirling around. "What should I go as?"

Roxie kept her gaze on Dom even though she just shrugged. The girl always acted so tough on the outside at times, but barely anyone knew what she had gone through. When Dom told her about going to therapy she nearly cried for her. She held it in to be strong for her best friend but once Dom had left her alone she started to sob very concerned for her. That moment was one of the few moments she ever sobbed for a while. She managed to pull herself back together but not before Dom had seen her with her eyes puffy like she had been crying for her.
Roxie nodded knowing exactly how Dom got. "Closure? That's fine if you want closure but don't torture yourself trying to get it. I know it may sound very hypocritical coming from me but don't do anything reckless or do something you would regret later." she advised her friend. Now if only Roxanne was able to take her own advice. But Roxie wasn't sure if it was the best idea. So what if Dom found out who started the rumor? Then what? It wasn't like she and Stefan would get back together. It could only lead to more drama. But she knew there was no point in changing the blonde's mind once it was set.
Rox gave a small giggle at Dom's response. "You would think that you would be able to tell when I was joking after all these years. Maybe you are really blonde." she said teasingly with a small giggle as she also stood up and hugged Dom. Just to make the girl feel a bit better. "Let's see. Beautiful girl deserves a stunning costume. Perhaps something typical, like and angel. Or if you want to be original you can be Aphrodite. The greek goddess of love and beauty." she suggested with a smile to her friend.

Dom cleared her throat under Rox's gaze as she smiled at her, reassuring her that even though everything was bothering her, she was more than fine. She'd been vulnerable and hurt because she loved Stefan. He was her first love and you never get over those. But she knew she could find happiness again, but how could she ever truly move on without knowing what had happened for them to fall apart so violently. She pushed a strand of hair back and stood up, accepting a hug from her friend.
"Sure, I'm completely going to take your advice on how to not be reckless," she said drily. Shaking her head, she turned to stand in front of the mirror and examine herself. "I know what you're thinking," she said in a singsong voice and turned back. "I promise, I am not getting any hopes up. I don't want him back, really. I just need the truth. And revenge," she said, her eyes narrowing, as she nodded.
She gaped at the joke and flipped her hair, wrinkling her nose. "I am not stupid! I was kidding, too," she said, shaking her head and pulling her hair up in a bun, studying it before sighing and letting her hair back down. Her eyes widened and she jumped around, tackling Roxie with a hug. "Genius! I knew I came to you for a reason," she said and stood up, waving her hands dramatically, as if painting a picture in the air. "Imagine. Dominique Weasley as Aphoridite," she said, her eyes far off.
OOC - Right?! These two are amazing!

Rox smiled a bit as Dom gave a singsong voice about knowing what she was thinking. "You're a seer now as well?" she asked amused. At least she believed seer was the correct term for being able to see the future. She had heard that term before in one of the drama classes she had taken once when they were learning about Greek Tragedies and were talking about the ones like Antigone. She only used the term to seem more intellegent, it was like those advanced textbooks. They used big words to seem intellegent when they could easily put things in simpler terms. That would make everyone's lives much easier.
Roxie nodded about the revenge. It was quite understandable and she backed Dom up on it 110%. She pulled a dark brown strand of her own hair and tucked it behind her ear with a smile. "Revenge? If you wanted revenge love you could've told me much sooner. I would be honored to help." she said with a mischevious smile. She was the daughter of one of the Weasley twins. Revenge through pranks basically ran in their family. It was in her blood and was a method she used quite often.
Roxie put her hands up defensively with a smirk. "Hey, calm yourself. I am just kidding. And besides I never called you stupid. Just blonde. Consider it a compliment, I always wanted to be blonde. but with lighter skin. Because seriously people with dark skin and blonde hair don't go together. I have no idea what ever made someone think those two go together because they don't." Roxie explained and ranted a bit as she did with even the smallest subjects. Anything that didn't make much sense to her she ranted about.
Rox gave a small laugh as she hugged Dom back but stumbled a bit to keep herself from being tackled to the ground. "I am a genius, now aren't I?" she asked with a giggle. She smiled very easily being able to imagine the blonde going as Aphrodite. "I think some guys would end up following you around all night." she said with a smirk. Even if they went without dates there was that chance that they would find one by the end of the night if they made themselves appealing enough. "Now I need to think of mine."
