Tyson was restless and couldn’t sleep. Quidditch training hadn’t exactly gone swimmingly, many of the players were off their game but Tyson was at a loss for why. Not everyone had underperformed, but enough had to have Tyson raise the issue in the changing room afterwards. What he got was a string of excuses involving workloads and deadlines. He made a mental note to check with his head of house if his team could have a little respite in the run up to their first game. Right now, it was around nine in the evening, curfew for seventh years was approaching but he had no intention of giving it any merit. He had hoped to run into another seventh year, or sixth, many of whom who had taken Astronomy as a NEWT could often be found up here making observations and sometimes appreciated the company. Astronomy was more of a hobby for Tyson, he didn’t take it as a NEWT but he had intentions to read more about it when he left school.
His thoughts dabbled back into the Halloween party coming up shortly, he still hadn’t sorted out a costume but a trip to hogsmeade lay before the 31st. Perhaps he could find something there to suit his needs. Tyson’s initial thought had been rather lazy, don a suit and pretend to be a vampire of some sort, using his robes as a cape. He had dismissed the idea as a last minute emergency. The more pressing emergency was his lack of a date, he had avoided asking people on the team because most if not all of the girls were in lower years and probably had boys in mind that they were waiting to be snapped up by. As for girls in his year, he knew too few and those who he did know were just academic friends in class or late night crammers in the library. Was he over thinking this?
He sighed heavily and looked out across the black lake. The sun had long since set at around four o’clock and the grounds were devoid of activity besides the sway of the trees and ripples across the lake. He swore he could have heard a howl coming from the forest but even if it had been it wouldn’t have scarred Tyson. He had learnt to control his emotions through the course of his time at Hogwarts, his initial outbursts at the Malfoy’s, Greyback’s and Nott’s had subsided gradually as he learnt that nothing he did to them would change what happened to his dad. He still didn’t know how he died or who did it, despite multiple attempts of the request for information act under grounds of family relation. He just got back letters donned with classified and black in blotting out the details. He closed his eyes, he really hated this shit sometimes.

Bri's prefect duties were about to begin soon. She had just finished her essay, she had to get a high grade on it. She put a ton of effort into it and worked really hard. She had to have one of the best grades in order to give her family some pride. But they would never approve of her no matter how hard she tried to get them to. The only way they would approve was if she somehow got a house transfer and started to act like a pureblood. Discriminate against those "lower" of her and act as if she was the best thing that hit the planet. But that was going too far in her opinion and she wasn't going to be something she wasn't just to please them.
Suddenly the 7th year curfew was up. She stood up and stretched as she started to walk around. Patrolling the hallways for anyone who was out of bed. She started to walk to the Astronomy tower. Earlier that day she had left her skecthpad there and she needed it back. She could go and get it while claiming she was patrolling for students out of bed. She walked up there quickly and silently and slowly turned the doorknob and walked into the Astronomy Room. She saw her sketchpad on the professor's desk. She prayed he didn't look through it considering how her sketchpad was like another girl's diary. It was how she expressed herself.
She grabbed it and then noticed out of the corner of her eye Tyson. The two didn't get off to the right foot. He judged her because of her last name and was just a jerk to her in general. She never understood why and soon gained the courage to stand up to herself. Even though it was a fail attempt with her babbling and blushing a ton being way too polite and quiet. But ever since then they had been good friends to the point where she developed feelings for him that he could never know about. She was too shy to ever admit them or ask him to the Halloween Dance, for she also needed a date.
"Hey Tai." she said softly with a smile as she walked next to him and looked outside. "It's a lovely view." she said with a smile as she looked at him. "You know you are out of bed and it is past curfew. But I think I do owe you one for that homework assignment I forgot and you let me copy so I think I can let you off the hook." she said with a smile really not wanting to get him in trouble. She can bend the rules this one time.

Tyson massaged his eyes slightly, trying to take his mind off the incompetence of the Ministry of Magic; he never portrayed them in a good light whenever it was raised in conversation. But in most cases, he would try to steer clear of such discussions, except with those who understand him enough to put it into context. He wasn’t unpatriotic, he was looking forward to getting the vote, but the usual deniable operations governments partook in had given him a different look on all their policies.
He hadn’t heard the footsteps behind him, either because he had been too focused on his father or the breeze had simply drowned it out. It was a rather faint greeting that made his heart fluster slightly. Brielle Nott. At first glance Tyson hadn’t exactly given her a friendly introduction; regardless of her house he had dismissed her as a you know who supporter given her surname. He didn’t feel wrong in doing that at the time, everyone else who had similar surnames were stereotypical doubles of their parents in many respects, you couldn’t blame him for giving them the cold shoulder if you knew them. But then Brielle did something Tyson hadn’t expected. He was confronted by her, she made the obvious point that she hadn’t done anything to piss him off so it was plain rude to give her the cold shoulder, which Tyson responded in kind with his reasons why he did so. He was naive back then, he had matured so much during his time spent at Hogwarts, such to the extent that he could look past petty details like a surname and get to know the person. Shakespeare probably said it better.
”Bri, hey.” Tyson said faintly, slightly at a loss for words due to the unexpected interruption. Even in shadows of the telescope cast by the torches around the room, Tyson could make out Brielle’s smiling face. ”It is, isn’t it?” he said in agreement, casting his gaze away from her and back out to the black lake but looking back at her shortly after as she mentioned the curfew. Tyson vaguely remembered the occasion a few weeks back, he had been fatigued at the time given having to pick out new team members for quidditch. If he had been more alert, he might have used the homework as leverage to ask Brielle if she wanted to join him for a butterbeer in hogsmeade, but alas, that bargaining chip had just been used up. ”Caught red handed.” Tyson chuckled lightly, smiling thankfully back at Brielle. ”I think not handing me over to my head of house has a lot more weight behind it than giving out homework help!” Tyson said with a smile, noticing the notebook in her hands. ”What do you have there?” he asked casually, giving her every opportunity to hide it behind her back for him to drop it from conversation.

Bri smiled as she looked back out at the Black Lake. She always wanted to go swimming in the moonlight and the whole idea of it seemed so much more appealing from up above looking down upon the glistening water. She definately liked the Astronomy Tower better at night rather than the daytime. If only they were allowed to have night classes and have a free period for an afternoon nap. That would sound lovely. It would be a dream come true and would make Hogwarts better than it already was. Something that seemed impossible at times. She loved Hogwarts more than her own home. Now that she thought of it she loved a lot of things more than her own home.
She smiled and shrugged at his comment. "Normally it would be but under my circumstances where my parents think that I am a disgrace and the only way they actually feel proud to have me is the fact that I get good grades I really can't afford to miss any homeworks." she snapped, her face emotionless but her voice had it all. Anger and sadness. She shook her head. "Sorry. I wasn't snapping at you. More like the mere thought." she said softly feeling a bit embarassed. She didn't get why she still tried to get them to accept her, they never would so why didn't she just save herself the pain and give up?
He asked casually about her notebook. "Just a sketchpad. I like to draw on my freetime. Most girls have diaries where they write their inner thoughts and such. I put my inner thoughts down through art." she explained to him. It was a harmless question and it wasn't like he was going to see it. "I know it's probably stupid..." she trailed off. Most people found it weird so she usually kept it to herself but Tai was her friend and she trusted him enough to tell him.

Tyson had a thing for heights, which he guessed came hand in hand with his love of quidditch. The towers were his favourite place in all of Hogwarts, mainly because of the sense of scale it gave him being up here. He had found passageways that lead up to the roof of the school and had spent summer nights lost up in the stars until dawn, it gave him a quite place to think which was defiantly under rated these days. With all the stress of work and quidditch, he really didn’t feel like he had an outlet to just calm down and take a break. The socials with his fellow teammates were fun but hardly relaxing, especially given the involvement of all that butterbeer! He had a feeling the Halloween party would be similar if he ended up hanging around with the team that night.
Tyson was taken aback by the somewhat angry tone Bri took when validating his point about helping her with her homework. Bri was a very determined individual, Tyson had always wondered why she had never ended up in Ravenclaw given her intellect, but then again conversations had surrounded her about why she wasn’t put in Slytherin because of her surname. But then again, the same conversations were had about Albus Potter. Everything was rumour and speculation these days wasn’t it? As Bri apologised, Tyson just smiled, raising a hand to dismiss her apology as he shook his head. ”I’ve had a stressful day too – I wasn’t saying you needed the help in the first place!” Tyson said shrugging, attempting to defuse the situation which in hindsight wasn’t really that explosive. The pair got on well, a little too well. Tyson had to admit he had started to develop feelings for Brielle, but had little free time enough to see her and make anything of them, they were only in so many classes together and being in different houses meant it was impossible to bump into her regularly in the common room.
As the conversation turned to the sketchpad, Tyson smiled softly, it was rather cute of Brielle to keep a tradition best associated with little girls alive through a more developed medium such as art. ”It’s not stupid...” Tyson began, moving his gaze from the sketchpad back up to Brielle. ”If anything, it’s a little cute.” He chuckled, with all the best intentions. He glanced back out over the lake, pondering if he had just glimpsed one of the giant octopuses tentacles flick out of the water. Going back to the sketchpad, he asked: ”Does there happen to be a Halloween costume in there I can use for ideas?” He asked with a laugh, giving away the fact that he was still at a loss for what to dress as.

She nodded when he mentioned a stressful day. "Stessful day is an understatement for me. More like a stressful year." she said with a small smile and it was true. She had her prefect duties and more importantly her grades. She had the need to be the top of her class and was probably one of the most hardworking girls in her grade. Along with that she was stressing about her future. She still had no idea which direction she should go in for her occupation. She had nothing figured out and the fact that it was her last year scared her. Along with that she was being pushed by her friends to have more social experiences, like getting a boyfriend. But she may not even be able to handle that and it scared her.
She tilted her head at Tyson when she heard his comment about also having a stressful day. "I'm sorry. Do you want to talk about it?" she asked him willing to listen to him. She was usually the friend who listened and helped with problems and moral support. Plus she hadn't seen him in a while which kind of upset her more than she would have expected. Bri wouldn't ever admit it outloud, she would be too scared and shy too, but she had developed feelings for Tyson. Maybe because he didn't judge her that much anymore and he always seemed so understanding.
Bri smiled and felt a blush place upon her cheeks. She looked down as he called it cute. Why did she still blush? It was so embarassing how she blushed whenever she was complimented and she was sure Tyson noticed as well. She listened to his question. "No, not yet. But if you need help with a costume I can help." she offered him as she sat on one of the desks showing she wasn't planning on leaving soon. "Like it depends on who you go with. If you already have a date you two could coordinate or if you are going with some friends like I am you can all dress up as a group theme." she suggested with a shrug. She did wonder if he had a date though, not like it mattered because she wouldn't have the balls to ask him.

Tyson couldn’t help but have a similar mindset about his first few weeks of seventh year. The work had come thick and fast and the stress admitably was getting to him. Quidditch had been his best outlet, distraction and excuse regarding not doing his work to his best standard despite trying to by pulling all nighters in the library. He had also felt putting time into his quidditch obligations would help him when applying for professional team positions after he left Hogwarts if he needed references from his professors. ”I’m on a similar page, too bogged down with work.” He said in agreement, a gust of wind making the torches flicker slightly as Tyson shivered slightly, he hated the British weather sometimes.
Brielle had often heard about Tyson’s musings, usually the melancholy of school life and she probably understood more about how he felt about his father’s fate and you know who than most people. Tyson had appreciated her putting up with what he often considered depressing subjects of conversation but he had responded in kind whenever Brielle had needed a similar shoulder to cry on, as it were. ”It’s nothing to get too deep into.” Tyson clarified, waving a dismissive hand as he turned to the lake again, resting has elbows on the railing as he took in the view once more. ”Just quidditch, work, the usual crap.” Tyson mused out loud, knowing that Brielle would most likely feel to be in a similar position. He appreciated Brielle’s concern, it was nice to know there was someone in Hogwarts that had his best interests in mind, especially his interest of happiness and a stress free life. One probably shared by most.
Tyson couldn’t help but grin slightly as a faint blush appeared across Brielle’s cheeks, it didn’t help towards subsiding his feelings for her, if anything, he was finding them harder to ignore at this point. But it was something to be expected wasn’t it? Tyson’s relationship history was rather turbulent, never really settling out in something steady or easy going and he had often skipped out the amorous flirting phases of falling in love. ”Help would be good” Tyson started, nodding approvingly as he looked back at Brielle. Her casual mention of a date might as well have been a slap in the face in terms of her real question but Tyson felt somewhat joyful. ”Group outfits? Quidditch team already dismissed the idea, quite fast actually.” Tyson chuckled, finding it hard to blame them in hindsight. ”As for a date? That’s a whole different kettle of fish.” Tyson finished, turning his attention back out to the black lake, his mind racing through a thousand ways of asking the same question, not sure how to bring it up.

Bri nodded and looked at Tai curiously. "Do you have any plans for the future yet?" she asked him. Maybe some of his plans could help her think of some and figure things out. Maybe he could give her a few suggestions. After all she was way too indecisive and may need a couple of opinions to help her out. Plus she was as well honestly curious about what he was planning after Hogwarts. What was his dream career that he would pursue and do every day for the rest of his life. Well until he chose a new job or something like that.
Bri nodded as he waved her off. Then it probably wasn't anything too bad. After all she saw no reason why he would keep something from her. And even if he did it really was none of her business. he had a choice to talk about it with her if he wanted to. She never forced him to. She smiled when he mentioned Quidditch and nodded. She never really was a fan but she would usually go for moral support of her friends. Especially during Gryffindor games to see Tai and cheer him on, even if it was against Hufflepuff.
She smiled as he mentioned how they turned down the group outfit idea. She shook her head. "How could they resist the idea of them all dressing in a common theme. like maybe crayons in a crayola box or those muggle candy called M&Ms." she said with a smile. She had seen cute costumes of those and was originally planning on getting her girls to go like that but then Bella got a date and ruined that idea. But she was happy for her best friend. She knew how much it meant to the girl and wouldn't let her jealousy ruin any of it.
She smiled and nodded at the mention of a date. "I know what you mean. I would ask someone but I am way too shy and afraid of rejection and it never ends up well." she said shaking her head remembering one of her attempts. She ended up babbling on about some uninteresting topic. "But if you want to ask someone then you should just go for it. Any girl who turns you down has no idea what she is missing." she said softly with a sincere smile. He had no idea how much she really meant that.

Plans for the future? It was hard to figure who didn’t know of Tyson’s desire to become a professional quidditch player. Although he wasn’t surprised Brielle didn’t know as she wasn’t that into quidditch. He could at least guess that she enjoyed the free afternoons the games brought to the school but he wondered if she event went to the games, given her hard working mentality. ”Professional quidditch hopefully.” Tyson began, attempting to brush some of his messy hair out of his eyes. ”Got a few tryouts lined up for over the Christmas holidays.” He smiled, still remembering the positive letters of response he had gotten back, but it still wasn’t a golden ticket onto a team, but it was a start. ”If that fails, maybe an agent at the ministry. Hunt down bad guys and all that jazz.” He chuckled, like father like son, with the hidden agenda of digging through records looking for information on his father’s death.
Tyson would like to think that he was now in a position where his father, you know who and the ministry didn’t affect his everyday life or decisions. The fact that he was talking to Brielle spoke volumes to that, but he would be lying through his teeth as he still held a grievance against not only the system, but to the stuck up, perfectionist siblings spawned from past death eaters and the like. His blood was beginning to boil, he forced himself to calm down, for the sake of Brielle. She didn’t need to hear about any of this crap, nor bare the baggage either given the hard time she had already taken from Tyson in the past.
Bringing him back down to reality, Brielle made him laugh with the suggestion of crayons or sweets as the theme for the team to use for the Halloween party. ”I don’t think Addison would approve, he’s already tentative about dressing up on his own!” Tyson smiled, adding: ”I can’t really speak for the others.” He still didn’t really know what everyone was going dressed as. I guess it was hard to discuss the topic when you yourself were empty handed. As she turned the topic back towards the question surrounding a date, Tyson could feel his heart skip a beat, or two. He flew a broom that could travel up to two hundred miles an hour and fly miles up high in the air with ballistic missiles being fired at him from enemy beaters and other brooms whizzing all around him – was this so hard by comparison? Tyson felt his ears tinge red as she finished, he was pretty confident about the outcome of his question so he just felt the need to bite the bullet. ”Brielle...” He started, trailing off somewhat as he failed to find the words. He then smirked to himself, adding a little bravado to the mix. ”What time should I pick you up?” He asked with a smile, attempting to hide the same fears Brielle had shared, rejection and dismissal, she might already have a date.

Bri smiled when he mentioned professional quidditch. "I could definately see that. You are amazing at Quidditch and definately have what it takes." she said honestly, even though it was as honest as she could be on the subject since she really wasn't an expert on Quidditch, but she knew enough about it to have a conversation and enjoyed to watch the games. She smiled as he mentioned having tryouts line up. "That's great. Well good luck with that. Not like you will need it or anything." she said to him. But she was positive he would get a spot. He had to, she didn't see a reason why he couldn't. She nodded at the second part, she had no problem with that but it was kind of an awkward topic in some aspects considering her family background.
Bri knew about what happened to Tai's father. And even though she wasn't anything like her parents were she still felt guilty. Guilt that would only double if her family was responsable for Tai's father's death. Sometimes she just wanted to apologize for her family, even if it was something she couldn't and shouldn't even apologize for. But she never did, she didn't want to bring up a conversation like that around him. It was best she kept something like that silenced to avoid tensions.
Bri looked at him feeling her heart speed up a bit nervously as he said her name. She knew she shouldn't get her hopes up of him asking. After all, out of every girl in the school why would he choose her? She wasn't the prettiest girl in the school. Half the things she said probably sounded dumb or didn't make sense. He basically hated her family. She felt as if them being friends was even a miracle on her side. But when he asked her the question she had to admit she was shocked, but in a good way of course.
She placed a strand of her hair behind her ear as she gave a small smile. "I guess that depends on the time the dance starts, now doesn't it?" she asked feeling butterflies crowding her stomach. So this was how Bella felt when she was asked to the dance. Bri was still trying to process the fact that he asked her. "But this is a date? Not like it has to be a date if you don't want it to be. But I would like it to be a date. Because I don't want you to do this out of pity of the fact that I have no date. After all there are so many other girls who are better than I am you can ask... and i am going to shut up now." she babbled with a deep blush on her cheeks. She prayed she did not just screw it up.

Could he really cut it in the professional leagues? It was something he thought about often because it would end up putting a damper on what he always tried to maintain as a positive outlook. At least Brielle had his back. ”Cheers Bri, means a lot to me coming from you.” He said with a smile, although he had already mused about her knowledge of quidditch, it was the thought that counts and Tyson very much appreciated it. The lack of comment with regards to the ministry was probably for the best and made Tyson glad, Brielle was pretty wised up to leaving the darker tones back where they belong, out of sight, out of mind. He nodded thankfully, ”I’d say the same to you but you also don’t need it. But what did you say you wanted to do again?” Tyson asked with a somewhat confused look on his face. Had they even discusses this before?
It wasn’t so much the case that Tyson was nervous about asking Brielle out, more strangely it was a fear that he somehow might disappoint her, act in some way she didn’t deserve. He hadn’t been in a stable relationship for god knows how long and he had matured so much since his fling with Rebbecca. But would it be enough? It was hardly a topic of conversation, nor something he found particularly pleasing to think about, sort of. His head could get in a real mess sometimes with all the conflicting thoughts knocking around.
He had prepared for the worst, to shrug the line off as some failed attempt at an ironic satire of a joke; he had been halfway through his mental perpetration for the embarrassment when music met his ears. He exhaled; he hadn’t noticed he had been holding his breath. ”I’d say around eight?” Tyson mused, starting to smile in tandem with Brielle; they were both obviously going through the process of relief and joy. As she started to babble, Tyson dropped his head, trying to hide the grin forming on his face. She was so cute, but he was finding it hard to hide the similar feelings his body was trying to express. He simply slipped an arm around her waist and said: ”I asked you, didn’t I?” He began, looking first at her then back out to the stars, now shining brightly in the sky as the autumnal clouds faded moments ago. ”You can call it whatever you want, but I’ll be buying you drinks and embarrassing you on the dance floor. Sounds like a date to me.”

She smiled as he mentioned the same to her. How she would definately be able to get any occupation that she wanted. She didn't believe they had ever had a conversation about their futures before. or she was just horrible at remembering such things. "I am quite lost actually. I have no plans yet." she admitted with a shrug. More like she had way too many options that she couldn't consider just one. "I was considering a few options. Teaching, or maybe a psychologist. I have been told that I would make a good psychologist." she said with a shrug. Afetr all she was a good listener and have never gotten a complaint from advice she had given in the past.
She nodded. "Then around eight it shall be." she said with a huge grin not being able to contain her excitement. She smiled and blushed a little as he slipped an arm around her waist. She had to stop blushing so much! It was getting kind of ridiculous. But maybe her blush was something that appealed to him. She couldn't really see why. Last time she checked blushing wasn't super sexy and didn't turn on men. It was simply cute, as in a little kid way. She could already tell she wouldn't be able to hold unto a man acting as she usually did. But she wasn't going to be someone else just for that reason. She would not lose herself.
She smiled and gave a small laugh at what he said about their date. "Then a date it shall be." she said as she tilted her head at him slightly. "So I guess now we both have to a figure out a costume. Unless you would rather keep it as a surprise so you can be stunned by my beauty?" she suggested with a small chuckle. She just couldn't find it within herself to be able to stop smiling..

To hear that Brielle had no ideas for what to do after leaving Hogwarts was a surprise to Tyson. He had always pictured her as the girl with a plan to last her at least ten years after graduating. Evidently just because you were determined to get high marks didn’t mean that you knew what you wanted to do with them. Although Tyson hadn’t experience this himself he knew a lot of people who were just going through the motions of the education system and were eager to get out, despite not knowing what to do with themselves. ”You’d be fantastic at both, I reckon.” Tyson said with a smile, offering his opinion. She was very good at counselling people, listening to their troubles and offering advice and teaching went hand in hand with her determined work ethic and gentle personality.
Tyson pondered the time before offering it to Brielle. In reality he had a hunch that the party started around seven-ish but he and Brielle would probably want to get some work done, then Brielle would have to get ready. The list went on, but needless to say he felt it was a safe time to suggest. He noticed her blushing again as a large grin crept across her face. Tyson had never seen her so excited, or this red as a matter of fact. If she blushed anymore he might be able to feel the heat radiating off her cheeks. He just nodded his head in agreement, attempting to tear his gaze away from Brielle as not to stare back out to the stars.
His first actual date in what felt like a lifetime to Tyson. He was starting to get excited and there were still days before the party. He doubted he would be able to contain the occasional grin as the pair passed in the corridor or bumped into each other in the library late at night. As the suggestions of costumes came back again, Tyson pondered her suggestion. ”The element of surprise is tempting, but then I would have to find someone else to help me with mine!” he chuckled, very much onboard for the idea of leaving costumes out of the equation to be revealed at the party. ”But I’m sure I can manage that.” Tyson mused, squeezing Brielle playfully with the arm around her waist.

Bri smiled at his encouragement, not sure if he was just saying to to be polite in return or if he really meant it. "I hope so. But I have a feeling that my indecisiveness will cause me some trouble and I may end up having five jobs before I find the occupation I will have until I retire." she said. Bri always had hard times making decisions that would have long-term affects. Something seemed pleasing one minute but once she experienced it every day her opinion changed and she desired something new. She had fear that her life would be repetitiveness of that exact situation.
Bri couldn't believe that she was actually having a date. She never had many dates, only a few blind ones that her friends set up for her in attempts of helping her overcome her boy troubles. But she was surprised how much better she was with Tyson than with others. Maybe it was because of how long they had known each other. She smiled as he squeezed her playfully. She snuggled in closer to him with a small smile upon her lips surprised even at the boldness of herself. But she loved how his arms felt around her. Having a guy wrap his arms around her like that was something she has dreamed of for a while and coming from Tai made it even better.
"Tai." she whispered as she glanced out at the night sky where the stars were lighting it up. "Why did you choose to ask me out of every girl?" she asked shyly wondering if she would regret even asking such a thing. But perhaps she was pushed to ask it by her insecurities with herself. She knew a few girls who had feelings for Tyson. She had to admit she did get a bit jealous when she heard them talk about it or saw them looking at him. But she needed to feel reassured about this.

Indecisiveness? That was a good trait to have in the job market, Tyson might assume anyway. ”Indecisiveness isn’t all that bad.” He mused, looking down at Brielle, still smiling out into the night’s sky. ”You’ll go through a fair few jobs, but at least you’ll end up in one that’s right for you.” He finished, nodding his head slightly at his own logic, maybe egoistically but it was unintentional. Tyson was lucky in knowing what he wanted to do but it was only because of how good he felt when riding a broom, it’s a sensation that he wouldn’t have traded for the world. He understood some people had too many options or too few, Brielle fitted in the latter, and he had offered advice wherever he could but at the end of the day, he was in no position to make choices for them.
The sensation that he actually had a date hadn’t exactly hit Tyson yet, his brain must still be passing it off as their usual meetings in the library, although he wasn’t sure why. In his lower years he had jumped on the relationship bandwagon secondary school seemed to bring and found one or two girls he got on well with but nothing really happened, he was too young at the time. Then there was his ordeal with Rebbecca in sixth year which he prayed Brielle hadn’t found out about. He was slightly ashamed to admit it was what he felt he needed at the time to deal with the stress of work and new quidditch responsibilities but it wouldn’t be viewed in that light, not to the outside observer anyway.
As Brielle asked why he chose her, Tyson cocked his head slightly, pondering the question. It was harder than he had expected to formulate his feelings into words. ”Well, that’s not a complicated question at all...” He chuckled with a light sarcastic tone. ”I’m surprised you’re asking me, but if you want me to reel off all your redeeming factors: You’re a very attractive young woman, you’re cute, funny, intelligent and we get on so well in the grand scheme of things.” Tyson smiled, finding easier than he had expected to talk about this. ”And as far as other girls go, I don’t know many who would go for me.” He said with a shrug, adding: ”Or in any case, I haven’t gotten to know any that would.” He mused, pondering about secret admirers momentarily before looking back at Brielle. ”So why did you say yes then?” With a smile, directing the question back at her.
